I have in my system a thoren 125 tt with separate arm with dynavector 20-2 Lomc with transformer this goes into a arc sp-6 tweeted by arc. This goes into a acoustat tnt200 amp tweeted by Roy e this is powering Martin Logan vantage speakers I have a an Oppo 105 for cd's
question is would I be better off with a different amp if so arc, if so tube or transistor i.e. Vt200 or 300 or 400-d or krell or Bryston or?
also my used thoren starts very slow. Is this normal?
I have the same amp/preamp combination. Don't change it! The TNT 200 is an excellent amp for driving difficult speakers (I.e. electrostats and ribbons). It sounds fine! Anything else will just be a sidewise move! Jim Strickland got it right when he designed it to drive his Acoustats! Those are a difficult load due to low sensitivity and a falling impedance at high frequencies!
