Where is the best place to buy SACD

Go to audioreview.com People add their reviews and tell how much and where they bought the item. Several people bought their Sony 9000ES mail order for $300-400 under list. I bought mine locally, Myer-Emco in DC area, but they had a $200 store-wide sale that day. I probably could not get that price today.

chad kassem @ acousticsounds.com has a large selection, tho prices aren't the lowest you might find.

And some people reported buying their S9000ES DVD/CD/SACD player at www.oade.com for $1,080 if I remember correctly.

Music Direct has a very good selection and I believe the prices are better than Chad's.

Sorry, I did not see the "software" part of your post. Go to hmv.com they are the least expensive for Sony/Columbia/Epic.

FYI: HMV introduced SACD Chesky Records for $29

You can buy SACD recordings from both Tower Records (www.towerrecords.com) and Amazon.com. Of the two, Tower usually has a bit better selection, and they do not charge state sales tax (only shipping, which is also cheaper than Amazon's).
