Whats playing on your system today?

Today I decided to listen to two of my favorite rock guitar heros and one great vocalist. Guitarist' Robin Trower, Ronnie Montrose and vocalist Davey Pattison.

I listened to Trower songs:
Bridge of sighs, Stitch in time, The fool and me, my personal favorite- Too rolling stoned and others.....

Then I pulled out "Gamma".
I listened to: Razor King, Wish I was and Skin and bone and others.....

Davey Pattison hooked has also up with Michael Shenker also. I really enjoyed my day so far. Anybody else heard anything good?

Aladdin Sane, The Ramones Leave Home, Eddie Cochran 20th Anniversary Album.

I guess I'm deep in my senility/cups, this afternoon. I started off with side one of the Beatles White Album (that I bought the day it hit L.A. stores but which already has a six digit serial number), followed by a CD of The Four Seasons featuring Pinkie Zukermann and the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra. My stereo should be shaking its finger at me.

Floating through the F’s on my pop LP shelves. Enjoying it, too.

Fleetwood Mac, Rumours. Yeah, the mammoth hit that repelled the band’s core fans while seducing the rest of the planet. It still sounds pretty good. Sexy. Inviting. Some good artificially induced 3D.

Roderick Falconer, New Nation. I’m probably the last person on earth that still has a copy. Or am I the only person who bought a copy? Stately 70’s rock. A multi-miked, carefully produced production with SQ on a par with Rumours.

Both on mega-tonnage, pancake flat pressings.

The Pink Panther movie soundtrack via Qobuz. Totally lovin' it. Yeah, my opinion of it may come off as patently ridiculous, but the only way I can describe it is that it's the Beethoven's Ninth of Lounge Music. As profoundly shallow as the Beethoven is deep, but a masterpiece in its own right. Multi-tracked but otherwise a first class recording. The perpetrator of this?  Henry Mancini.

Rachmaninoff's Third Symphony, in a lovely-sounding (yeah DG!) recording with the Philadelphia Orchestra conducted by Yannick Nezet Seguin.  CD quality stream from Idagio. Mellow. Happy. Chock full of Rocky's ever wonderful tunes.

I'm just stuck on The Pink Panther. As they sing in one of the cuts -- Meglio sta' serra baby, go go go. Or as we natives say, "Va subito!"
