Whats playing on your system today?

Today I decided to listen to two of my favorite rock guitar heros and one great vocalist. Guitarist' Robin Trower, Ronnie Montrose and vocalist Davey Pattison.

I listened to Trower songs:
Bridge of sighs, Stitch in time, The fool and me, my personal favorite- Too rolling stoned and others.....

Then I pulled out "Gamma".
I listened to: Razor King, Wish I was and Skin and bone and others.....

Davey Pattison hooked has also up with Michael Shenker also. I really enjoyed my day so far. Anybody else heard anything good?

Neko Case - Middle Cyclone.

I think this is her best album. Just fantastic. So unique. I also like Fox Confessor but oddly don't care for much else by her. Keep trying to like the other stuff but it just doesn't hook me.
Two Against Nature- Steely Dan. Possibly the best produced album I've ever heard. Maybe even bordering on over-produced.
Black Wind Howlin' - Samantha Fish, the blonde chick blues guitar phenom. Not bad.
Zep 4. Skipped SWTH. My favorite song, Levee, cranked up.
Next, The Black Keys best album: Chulahoma: The Songs of Junior Kimbrough. Crappy recording....but so is all of Junior's stuff.....and it doesn't matter.
@david_ten : "Good to see you back"
Good to be back. Lots of distractions lately...not bad stuff, just lots of stuff. Looking for fresh listening ideas. And this is the place for that.

Tonight: Teskey Brothers, Run Home Slow on vinyl. Really nicely produced CD.
Next: J.J. Grey and Mofro, The Choice Cuts. Anyone heard of these guys? (Maybe I heard about them here?). There is a fair amount of good stuff there spread across a number of albums. Brighter Days, Orange Blossoms and Lochloosa stand out.
August and Everything After - Counting Crows. Great songs. Great sounding CD.
Floyd - Wish You Were Here. Ripped CD.
@boxer12, haven't listened to Butthole Surfers in years. Time to give them another listen.
Khraungbin. Con Todo el Mundo and their second album Mordechai which just came out last month.

You guys ever hear of them? (Probably have. I always come late to the game).

Most of the songs are instrumental. I don't know what to call it, almost jazz-like but not jazz at all. Not mood or ambient.....anyway, give it a listen if you never heard of them

I first heard them on a song with Leon Bridges called Texas Sun. A spectacular song and awesome video too.

Khruangbin- Con Todo El Mundo.

Really liking this stuff. Very well recorded. In a barn they say.
How about a little info when we post stuff that is fairly obscure? Might help folks find new stuff. Just a thought.
@bdp24 I did not have you pegged as a classical guy. Of course anyone should be able to enjoy Beethoven's 9th. In my meager experience with classical I see the 9th as possibly the greatest symphony ever.

I tried to listen to Amused to Death once. I think Waters is a genius. I also think he is a sanctimonious a$$. That part seemed to show through on this one. I couldn’t get through it. I need to give it another try I suppose.

I do like QSound. I think Sting's Soul Cages was recorded that way and it is a great recording.

The Honey Drippers - Volume One. Good stuff. Some of Plant's best. A shame there was no volume 2.

Khruangbin (Texas psychedelic Thai funk) + Leon Bridges (Texas R&B) = Texas magic.

This one is moody, sad, ambient gold on a good system.
