Whats playing on your system today?

Today I decided to listen to two of my favorite rock guitar heros and one great vocalist. Guitarist' Robin Trower, Ronnie Montrose and vocalist Davey Pattison.

I listened to Trower songs:
Bridge of sighs, Stitch in time, The fool and me, my personal favorite- Too rolling stoned and others.....

Then I pulled out "Gamma".
I listened to: Razor King, Wish I was and Skin and bone and others.....

Davey Pattison hooked has also up with Michael Shenker also. I really enjoyed my day so far. Anybody else heard anything good?

I just played that Peter Green album this week. The only thing I can say is, it’s tooo short! 😃

The Clash, London Calling

The strokes, Is This It

The Pixies, Doolittle

A Quest Called Tribe, The Low End Theory

Neil Young, Bluenote Cafe.

Ramsey Lewis, Sun Goddess

Elton John, Honkey Chateau

Hey @david_ten

Do me a favor. Listen to Dayglow’s album, Fuzzy Brain, the first cut, Fuzzy Direction.  Does the base sound distorted and kinda fuzzy at the beginning and a couple of other places?  I just changed something on my system and have no ide if it the song or my system. BTW, I changed the power supply on my streamer and everything seems to be louder and more in you face, but the base on this tune seems really different.

Thanks.

JD

Thanks @david_ten

I screwed up the title and you fixed it.  Yes, the group is Dayglow and yes the album is called False direction and yes the song is Fuzzybrain.

Rare Bird, Sympathy and Born Again

Lord Huron, Strange Trails and Lonesome Dreams

@david_ten

Yeah, that’s it. For a moment I thought something was wonky with my system.

There is a "buzzing/vibrating effect" that starts at 0:05 and continues through 0:15 into the track...is that what you were referring to? It re-appears further in the track, multiple times. It is clearly expressed. I would not describe it as "fuzzy.”

Thanks

Started off with Miles Davis, Bitches Brew and really switched gears and am listening to one of my favorite bands, Government Mule, the current album is The Tel Star Sessions.  If you like blues/rock give them a try!

@chilehed

Love Keb’ Mo’! I think I have all the albums and have seen him once in concert.

@ozzy,

“Set me free, why don’t you Babe” I listen to them at least a couple times a year.

Vanilla Fudge. Anybody remember them?

Kenny Barron , The Art of Conversation w/ Dave Holland.

Kenny Barron, Concentric Circles.

Tedeschi Trucks Band, I Am The Moon.  Not their best album, but still a good listen.

@go4vinyl

I just checked my vinyl and I have a couple of Nucleus albums that I played the heck out of in my the 70’s. I’m going to have to make a day to listen to all the albums they made.😀

@jafant

I’m new to Simple Minds and am  currently  listening to Direction Of The Heart and I’m liking it.  Are there any other of their albums you’d recommend?

Thanks.

Thanks @jafant for the response. I’m trapped in the seventies or earlier, so learning about all these new tunes is fun for me.

And speaking of being trapped in the seventies, I’m listening to Captain Beyond, Captain Beyond 1972. Great album if you’ve never heard it.😁

Captain Beyond put out three good albums in the seventies.

Captain Beyond, Sufficiently breathless and Dawn explosion.

@onesmartsheep

My wife is the current runner in the house and she listens to The Ramones or other energetic bouncy  music. Even some Disco.  When I ran, I listened to longer songs so I could keep track of time. I’m old and my music was old, like Iron Butterfly,In-Gadda-Da-Vida or CCR, Heard It Through The Grape Vine. For me it was anything to take my mind off of running and for my wife, it was all about the energy of the tunes.

Hope this helps.

Maxwell Street, And This Is Free: The Life And Times Of Chicago’s Legendary Maxwell Street.

Just read a review in Stereophile. Some pretty good old fashioned blues.

All over the place today.
ELP, Tarkus.

Shirley Horne, Here’s to Life.

Diana Paton, I Believe In little things.

Stanley Turrentine, The Best Of.

Just listened to James Taylor, JT and Carly Simon, Boys In The Trees and it was fun listening to each of them singing on each other’s albums.

@ozzy

It’s funny you mention about the bass, because I turned off the subwoofer by the second song.

Prog Rock. They have several albums out and so far, I’ve enjoyed them all.

Just heard sad news about Roberta flack. She has ALS and can’t sing anymore.

I plan to listen to a hit or two later in the day.

Am I the last one to know that Elton John had a podcast for the last six years??

 I stumbled across this just today.

Great album @jerryg123 !

listening to Kim Simmonds, Struck By lightning and Out Of The Blue is up next.

One of my favorite albums. I’ve owned it on LP, Reel To Reel, Cassette and CD and I’m now listening to Santana, Abraxas in High Res! 😁
