Whats playing on your system today?

Today I decided to listen to two of my favorite rock guitar heros and one great vocalist. Guitarist' Robin Trower, Ronnie Montrose and vocalist Davey Pattison.

I listened to Trower songs:
Bridge of sighs, Stitch in time, The fool and me, my personal favorite- Too rolling stoned and others.....

Then I pulled out "Gamma".
I listened to: Razor King, Wish I was and Skin and bone and others.....

Davey Pattison hooked has also up with Michael Shenker also. I really enjoyed my day so far. Anybody else heard anything good?

They were HUGE in England back in the early to late seventies, massive chart hit with Part of the Union.

Check out Hero and Heroine, one of their best albums imho
Parallel Lines.... Blondie

Tidal MQA.

I am pretty sure I was in love with Debbie Harry when I was a teen! Lol
Nice Rush choice, Nutty

Another new one on Tidal

Resistance is Futile... Manic Street Preachers
Ok I lied
Just saw this on Tidal and had to share

So far so good so cool.... Death by Unga Bunga!
@slaw
Nice to Blondie live!

Never cared too much for the Beatles I am afraid

My one claim to fame though, our band had our vinyl cut and mastered at the Abbey Rd Studios. Paul Nicholas was in at the same time overseeing the mastering of his new album.
We managed to resist having a photo walking the walk though.......
@ozzy

Styx.....one of the best pomp rock bands ever!
Have every album on vinyl.
Saw them in England when they did a tour to support the Paradise Theater album.

The Grand Illusion and 2112 were on constant rotation in our student common room!
@slaw

Lmao

Actually I wondered after I posted who might be first to misread and tell me the obvious....lol

I am old but not THAT old my friend!
So time for spotlight on my local bands tonight
In no particular order but these will all be queued up later....

Sound Of Madness....Shinedown

Dont you Fake it....Red Jumpsuit Apparatus

Ocean Avenue....Yellowcard
This vinyl gets a lot of airtime at my house, simply because it is very well mastered and a musical masterpiece imho.

Crest of a Knave... Jethro Tull
May have to look for some Tears For Fears on cassette then, none in my sprawling tape collection...yet
@ozzy

Yes I have the latest album
Agreed it is obviously not on par with classic Styx but still worth a spin for sure.

Same as the 2 latest Uriah Heep albums, very different from classic Heep but still hell yeah!
Pretty much a live music fest all weekend for myself and my daughter.
Its Rockville time!
Google it to see the artists!
@slaw

Spot on with the avatar.
I can highly recommend their new album, its songs are maybe a bit more catchy, crafted with hooks rather than some of their earlier stuff but very well recorded.

My daughter is doing all 3 days of Rockville, this ol fart can only manage Sat!

I do not have catfish rising on vinyl, yet!
Freshly cleaned original copy of 2112, yes the one by Rush not Styx......lol

This was a bargain bin $1 purchase that needed a lot of cleaning work but now it really sounds good with just a very few odd clicks and pops. Never give up on vinyl, you can ressurect just about most of them.
Today's live that I will be catching at Rockville.

Red Sun Rising
Sevendust
Breaking Benjamin
Stone Sour
Avenged Sevenfold

What an overdose of hard rock!
But for something a little lighter before we leave for Rockville.

Confessions of a romance novelist... The Anchoress.aka Catherine Anne Davies
@nutty.
Boy a blast from the past, remember seeing Slayer on the reign of blood tour.
Now I hear this is their last year, farewell tour.
What a blast!
Sunburned, bit dehydrated and foot weary but a totally awesome day!
It does not get much better than spending quality time with your 18 year old daughter and listening to some primo rock all day long!

To wind down
August and Everything... Counting Crows in the car on the drive home.
Night all!
Still one of the best recordings I have on vinyl.
Ghost in the Machine... The Police
The Money Shot... Puscifer.

Maynard been busy this year
New album for A Perfect Circle, Tool and working on new Puscifer material.
Guess he had plenty of down time though....lol.
Another fruitfull trip to our LRS, getting to be a weekly pilgrimage for my teenage daughter and myself, brought her up proper like...lol.

First up

No Jacket required...Phil Collins
stereo5
Unfortunately I have to agree on the new Shinedown album SQ, terrible mastering all round.
A real shame as there are some killer tracks on it later into it if you can sit and suffer...lol
We are huge fans and have seen them live 4 times, my opinion is that this album is a LOT better than the last one, although that is not much of a compliment I know.
Stick with it, it does get better....
All great bands whiz, especially Riverside, very underrated Polish band.

Infinity ..... Journey

Clean original vinyl
stereo5
If it helps any I could not stand listening to attention attention on my main rig at all.
It did not sound too bad playing via Tidal on my phone transmitted to the car stereo via Bluetooth! Seemed to take the harshness out of it!
This album title ALWAYS cracks me up.
You can tune a piano but you can't tuna fish..... Reo Speedwagon
