Whats playing on your system today?

Today I decided to listen to two of my favorite rock guitar heros and one great vocalist. Guitarist' Robin Trower, Ronnie Montrose and vocalist Davey Pattison.

I listened to Trower songs:
Bridge of sighs, Stitch in time, The fool and me, my personal favorite- Too rolling stoned and others.....

Then I pulled out "Gamma".
I listened to: Razor King, Wish I was and Skin and bone and others.....

Davey Pattison hooked has also up with Michael Shenker also. I really enjoyed my day so far. Anybody else heard anything good?

Ronnie Montrose "Open Fire", (lp) Hell Yeah!

Jefferson Airplane "Volunteers"  MFSL/45rpm
Michael Nesmith & The First National Band  "Loose Salute" (lp)
regarding the Michael Nesmith lp above...

This is my first time listening to it. All of my memories of him were from watching The Monkees  tv show when I was a kid.

Listening to this lp, (by the way, the sonics are pretty remarkable), after my years of musical interests, it's obvious to me that he had quite a bit of talent. These songs are well written, well performed, period. Not shy about listing it here.
@uberwaltz,

I found three James Gang lps in great shape at my latest record show. Got "Rides Again" coming in soon on MFSL. Here’s hoping?

Slow down uber, take a breath.
I’ll disagree on the Bruce. I’ve never sought his stuff out as essential but I don’t have strong feelings against him like others here. I think he’s an excellent song writer. Can we still be friends?

Faces "Stray Singles & B-Sides" from the box set.
The War on Drugs "A Deeper Understanding" (lp) Wow! Highly recommended!

@ghosthouse,

I get it brother.
+1 "Free for All"

War On Drugs "A Deeper Understanding"... .can't get enough of this one.

The MFSL Abbey Road is somewhat of an analog masterpiece!. No problem having bought it. Ringo's drumming on "Carry That Weight" is sublime!. The perfect compliment to the guitars that will follow! I'm very happy!

Let's see, that's three exclamation points......Hmmmmmmmmmm
@nutty, @uberwaltz,

I saw Blondie last summer and was not disappointed. Her band is very tight!
currently cleaning a Beatles "Abbey Road" MFSL lp I won in an auction recently. May be worth comparing to my plum label domestic Capitol?

right now... The Decemberists "The Crane Wife" lp1 from the boxset.
Jeff Tweedy "Together at Last" (lp)

I have an already long history of trying to get a decent copy of this lp delivered to me. Finally found it through SSD.

Do not use Amazon for this lp. It comes in a large sealed plastic cover that is so large it allows for major slippage during shipping that will most likely result in it's outer jacket being destroyed during shipment through outlets that aren't use to shipping lps.
@uberwaltz,

"2112" was not a Styx lp.!!

@bdp24 ,

Thank you for that piece of info on Andrew Gold.!!!
steamed and re-listened to...

Alvin Lee & Mylon LeFevre "On the Road to Freedom" (lp) from last night

up next..

Violent Femmes "We Can do Anything"...from 2017 (lp)
@uberwaltz,

My apologies for misreading your post. I realized it this morning. I believe as I age, I have mini bouts of dyslexia.

I re-listened to Buddy Miller "Cruel Moon" (lp). (Thanks to @bdp24 for turning me on to this great artist!)

Bandi Carlile "by the way, I forgive you" (lp). She really has matured as a songwriter. Fantastic!

Happy RSD everyone!

I came away with the one lp I wanted and a few others...

Son Volt "Okemah and the Melody of Riot". First time on vinyl. Dbl vinyl w/extra tracks!

Prince "1999" Special 1 lp/ 7 track record.

These others were just to support my local record store...

Garbage "Strange Little Birds"
The Jayhawks "Hollywood Town" & "Mockingbird Time"

Great time to enjoy vinyl!
BTW, Buddy Miller’s voice on "Cruel Moon" sounds very similar to Jon Snodgrass.

Cardas deguassing lp

James Gang "Rides Again" MFSL/lp
Currently cleaning..

Hendrix "Both Sides of the Sky" (lp)

listening now...... Jason Molina "Travels in Constants" (lp)

The Autumn Defense  "Once Around" (lp)
A gifted copy of Led Zeppelin "II" (no RL)(lp)

The National "Sleep Well Beast" (lp)
@ uberwaltz,

Is your new moniker picture, the cover of the new "The Perfect Circle" lp?
If so, How does it sound?

Hope you & your daughter have a great time!
...BTW... I just pulled out my "Catfish Rising" lp.

It's an EU copy. I think I bought it upon release. It has an additional 12", 3 track bonus lp. Interesting? Currently cleaning it....
@reubent,

As fellow lover of the Jayhawks, it’s kind of hard not to recommend their records but, I’ve listened once and can say there’s nothing that would keep me from recommending it from my one time listening regarding sonics. I will most likely listen again over the weekend. I also have "mockingbird time" waiting in the ’wings’.

The National would be a very cool band to experience live!

...BTW...your mentioning "Crest of a Knave" recently has me motivated to pull out my copy...maybe "Catfish Rising" as well?

Right now...."War Child" (lp)
@uberwaltz,

I listened to both of the above JT lps.

IMO, for sonics, I like my EU "Catfish Rising". Sounds more analog, has  more (soul).
