ok, if you’re not a believer in the greatness of this band in its mid 70s incarnation, do yourself a favor and listen to the speed and utter rockinness of the 3rd track on sode 1, "broken heart blues" and you find yourself a new guitar god. for me one of those songs and records that, at an impressionable age, living in the blue collar-or-lower culture of east side portland oregon of the 1970s, well, changed my life.
i mean, this was a time before video games and when records were maybe 100 times more important than movies and still even more important than TV. Wow. you didnt even need to be stoned - with music like this on your stereo you could transcend.
