Pergolesi's Stabat Mater performed by the Czech Philharmonic Chorus. Dark, emotional and beautiful. The record is old, worn, and noisy and some spots are quite noisy but the music shines through. Goose bumps and tears guaranteed.
Dave Brubeck Quartet, Time-out, 200gram reissue. I can't get enough of Take-Five. Brubeck was preceeded by Jackie McLean Swing, Swang, Swinging, Blue-Note re-issue.
- New Order, Everything Gone Green, Mesh, Cries and Whispers, Factory Benelux Japanese Pressing.

- Joy Division, 1979 Radio Sessions, re-issue.

Und zum letzte: - Kraftwerk, Radio Activity.
It's an ECM night tonight, Gary Burton, Keith Jarret, Chick Corea. Great recordings, awesome sound stage and best of all, great Jazz.
Norah Jones - the Fall, is back on the TT tonight.

Srwooten, it is a fabulous recording clear, detailed and warm. The music is pretty good IMHO, her best album since come a way with me. I find it to be much more centered on guitars and less on the piano.
Bjork, Selmasongs the soundtrack to the Lars Von Trier movie Dancer in the Dark. I picked the the Little Indian reissue, direct metal mastered on 200g vinyl.

This is one of many titles I picked up this weekend during the Montreal Audio Show. Out of all them this is the biggest surprise. I already owned the CD of this recording but was never impressed by the sound quality. But the vinyl blew me away.

Other picks were:
Keith Jarret - Yesterdays, double LP on ECM. Fabulous and Musical! It was a costly addition to my collection so I had high expectations, and my expectation were easily met.

Blue Rodeo's new album, sounds good but not terribly impressed by the music. There are a few good tracks. I bought for my wife mostly. I prefer Five Days in July.

I also picked up various other used titles on ECM, and some classical titles as well. I'll save my comments on those for future posts!
Oscar Peterson featuring Stephane Grappelli, double LP on Prestige. I often overlook this record in my jazz collection, but tonight I it is hittin the spot. The sweet spot!
Jack DeJohnette's Special Edition - Tin can alley.
I am getting in gear for the show at Montreal Jazz Festival Keith Jarret, Jack and Gary Peacock. I can't wait!
Late night free jazz session:
Ornette Coleman - Change of a century
Miles Davis - Call it Anything, live at the Isle Wight Festival (includes a star studded cast with Chick, Keith, JDJ, Airto, Dave Holland)
Election night in Canada, listening to Norah Jones not to late, My Dear Country! It was a scary election...
The nutcracker, The National Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Richard Bonynge. London ffrr. It is Christmas eve! I should be going to bed before Santa shows up, he will probably prefer to sit and listen than distribute gifts!
Dexter Gordon, Both Sides of Midnight. I listened to the first side before midnight and now I am listening to the other side, LOL.
The final record of the night is, Dexter Gordon, One Flight Up. Then I am going to go one flight up to bed. No more puns I promise.
