@big_greg,

Is the change because you feel you're missing something or more out of curiosity?
@reubent ,

I thought I’d hear from you regarding "White City"
…………………….
@bdp24 ,

I’ll keep those records in mind. Thanks for mentioning them.

@6t5-gto,

Which speakers are you auditioning?

Finishing up the Grateful Dead lps. SQ is EX
I hope you all will check out Valley Maker, especially if you are fans of Angus & Julia Stone.
Bonnie Raitt "S/T"  OP/Warner Bros/ a record show find.

I remembered buying it and recently found it in my "for sale" pile. So, several years have passed as have system changes, but maybe more importantly, record cleaning changes.

So I steamed it then put it through my current US cleaning regimen. The results....It’s a keeper. I find a lot of satisfaction in this.
"Nine Tonight" doesn't have the greatest SQ but it's Bob...... that makes everything alright.
@bdp24 ,

I ordered the new Buddy & Julie Miller lp today among others with Music Directs' 20% off.
A shout out for Shunyata...
All the years I've owned several models, they’ve been through many a storm and NEVER failed. Knock on wood.
Counting Crows "This Desert Life" OP. Haven't played in years but remember it being an overall solid record.
@mwinkc,

I was given a copy a few years ago. First time I'd ever heard it. It struck me as very transparent recording. Need to re-listen.
I'm admitting, this was my first time hearing the above (lp). It's not perfect but very, very enjoyable! A great party record.
Finished sides 1 & 2 of the above set.

Now on to sides 3 & 4 of The Rolling Thunder Review. This turns out to be a great way to compare.
Bruce Springsteen "The Wild, The Innocent & The E Street Shuffle"

A survivor from some of my gifted lps.
@jamesclarke,

I’m a huge Jason Isbell fan myself. Have you tried any of his wife’s Amanda Shires) solo stuff? "My Piece of Land" is great!

@mwinkc,

Recently ordered " Dig in Deep" by Bonnie, I’m hoping it’s gonna be great.
Re-listening to Bob Dylan "Live 1975/The Rolling Thunder Revue"

Sides 1 & 2. Realizing now that what’s missing is some of the midrange frequencies and of coarse the lowest bass. Going to try and complete the entire set over the weekend.

Understanding this sets' flaws helps me to enjoy it more for what it is.
While the rest of this set is cleaning.....Bob Dylan "Desire" MFSL/45rpm
@big-greg,

I should have picked that one up a few months ago at an out of town record store. OP/sealed/$40.00.
……………………...……………………….
Marc Carroll "Stone Beads & Silver" …...nice!
I'm realizing that gaining perspective, especially with these Dylan recordings, is important for one's enjoyment. While good SQ is one factor, the artists' ability to convey their message, is equally important. It is through this "prism" that I'm able to enjoy Dylan's songs presented in very different venues and different ways on different lps.
Finishing up this evenings' Dylan listening with sides 3 & 4 of "Desire"  MFSL/45rpm.
Another survivor....Steppenwolf "Early Steppenwolf" / side 2 is "The Pusher".

I’ve been pleased at how well recorded all of my OP pressings of Steppenwolf sound.
"Dig in Deep" sounds really good, great bass response. Needed flattening.
The Courtney Barnett sounds great! It needed flattening as well. The vinyl quality is better than the Bonnie lp.
Got these in today....gonna try and listen to them tonight.

Bonnie Raitt "Dig In Deep" dbl lp/45rpm
Courtney Barnett "The Double EP/ A Sea of Split Peas"
Bob Dylan "John Wesley Harding" MFSL/mono/45rpm
The Dylan Original Mono Recordings box is a must have IMO. It’s consistent and well recorded. There’s a consistent theme running through every lp and that is how natural the music is forthcoming. Great mid-bass/ bass. It is the essence of analog.

The MFSL/45rpm/mono version builds on that great foundation. It doesn’t over-hype anything. There is just an increase in dynamic range and resolution. I could easily live with either version. I’ll gladly live with both. BTW, first time ever hearing a mono lp @ 45rpm. Wonderful!
@6t5-gto,
I have the Impex "Red Headed Stranger" as well. It will sure show any misalignment issues in a hurry. A great lp!

@big_greg,

If it makes you feel any better, I'm sure Ozzy feels much older than you.
Thanks for that link @uberwaltz, it's odd in talking with my next door neighbors, they didn't feel anything.
@reubent

"Western Stars" caught me eye when it was first released. I have quite a few lps on my list now. What are you're impressions?
Buddy & Julie Miller "Breakdown on 20th Ave. South"

My copy was pressed slightly off-center.

@boxer12,

You should really hear these latest re-masters. They may make you change your mind?
James Taylor "October Road"

I sometimes have trouble thinking of the first lp to play on the weekends. I read in a thread by @xanthus, he mentioned JT. Since I hadn’t thought about JT in a while, I thought I’d thank him helping me with that.
The last record from this box is the Live lp from The Record Plant.
I find it to be special!
