Ringo Star  'S/T'  Had to play this again before refiling it.

Yes  'The Yes Album' Friday Music 45 rpm reissue.  There are some very minute details that I never really heard on my original copy.  Best I have ever been able to follow the bass line.  Just got this about 10 days ago and played it for the first time, today.

Doobie Brothers  'Livin' On The Fault Line'  One of the best from the Doobies.  Nice SQ, too.

NBA Playoffs tonight on TV... I scored a free ticket to the Lakers game for next Sunday.  I also scored a free ticket to the Clippers game #5.
@tomic601  Welcome back, Jim.  Good to hear you had a great shrimp trip.  Enjoy it.  Fine dining of shrimp, local brew, and with some vinyl spinning.  Sounds like a great time.  I have several tuna trips already booked for August/September out of Fishermans Landing, San Diego.  I hope to get some nice bluefin this year.

I have 'Alien's Ate My Buick', but only on CD.  That's one I would like to have on vinyl.  Essential record, absolutely!  I think I'll search for it on Discogs if it's not available as a quality reissue.
Thomas Dolby  'The Flat Earth'  Very fun album and a great recording.  And man, that album has spectacular depth in it.  Let's a system show its capacity.

The Police  'Outlandos d'Amour'  Great album of music but the SQ is only good, not great.

The Police  'Ghost In The Machine'  Fabulous album and the SQ is fantastic.  Awesome bass, and tight as tight can be.
@6t5-gto

You have some fabulous records.  Great albums of music and fabulous production quality.  Rock on!
I have a REL sub, model S-812, and use the high-level connectivity, coming from my amp.  I got the Audioquest Rocket 88 REL specific cable in place of the supplied REL high-level connection (much nicer cable).  I still don't understand that the phono stage would connect directly to the sub.  Yes, the REL also has low-level inputs (RCA connections) but why would you connect the phono stage there?  What am I missing?
I hope that @tomic601 is scoring well with his fishing.  After recovering from such a terrible cycling accident he certainly deserves it.  Go get 'em Jim!

I'll begin fishing in late July through end of September.  Hopefully the bluefin tuna will be very good this year.

And yeah, me too, I don't understand going from phono stage directly to powered subwoofer.  Does that mean you then connect an output from the subwoofer to your main amp?  I have never heard of such connectivity.  If so, then how do you control the volume level?
@slaw and @spiritofradio   Thank you for the replies.  I have been wanting to get that album and didn't know it was made in UD1S.  I have been looking for a new copy/reissue and they are consistently on backorder.  UD1S cited by Steve got my attention but I could not find it by sellers of new vinyl (such as Elusive Disc).  OK, so it is available, via discogs.  But at $400 I'll wait for it to come off of backorder in the 180 gr version from Mowtown for around $30.  Thanks again, guys.  I sure am jealous of that UD1S, I hope that you enjoy it very well.
@slaw

They made What's Goin' On in MFSL UD1S / 45 rpm?  I can't find it listed anywhere?  I don't even see it on the MFSL website under UDs1 listings for current and/or sold out.  When was that released?
Leo Kottke  'Burnt Lips'  This one is not quite as good in SQ as the S/T album, but still is a great listen.  And for $2.99 it was a steal.

Grover Washington Jr.  'Inside Moves'  This is the last of the 3 albums of Grover that I have.  It is a great album and the SQ is very good.  Saxophone is so wonderful but can be a little challenging to sound natural on playback.  My system does well, but I am so looking forward to the new tube amp arriving.  That will be a blessing.  It's about 3 weeks away, maybe a little sooner if BAT finishes production ahead of schedule.

Ringo Star  'Ringo'  I bought this new just after it released, in 1973.  That was with my first real hi-fi system (I was 19) so it has always been played on a respectable arm and cartridge.  Excellent bass slam, especially the kick drum.  Hey, Ringo is a drummer so of course!  Great album, great SQ.
@tgilb  I bought that Spirit album when it first was released, I believe 1971.  Last year I bought a reissue from Music On Vinyl, on white vinyl, limited edition.  My copy is #132 and it's really very good SQ and very quiet vinyl.  If your copy is not in great condition I highly recommend seeking out a reissue copy from Music On Vinyl.  Note; I saw Spirit perform in concert 3 times.  Fabulous!
Leo Kottke  S/T  This album arrived today.  I also bought burnt lips which arrived along with it.  I'll play that one tomorrow.  Leo is quit the picker.  SQ is quite good.

Grover Washington Jr.  'Paradise'  Great music but it's a shame that my copy sounds rather poor.  Adjust the volume level down and that really helps.

Grover Washington Jr.  'Winelight'  Excellent album and this one is so much better in SQ.  Very pleasant.
Tears For Fears  'Songs From The Big Chair'

Thompson Twins  'Into The Gap'

Emitt Rhodes  'Mirror'

Bloomfield/Kooper/Stills  'Super Session'

Benard Ighner  'Little Dreamer   Oh my, what a voice!
I have that album, "It's A Beautiful Day".  I bought it new in 1973 and is in perfect condition.  One of the best Hippie period albums I own.  It sounds really good when played really loud.  I just did that a few weeks ago.  Lots of fun...

Mentions here about Leo Kottke got me looking for my copies.  I was surprised not to find any in my mix.  Maybe I lent them out and never got them back?  Well, I bought two on Discogs and they should arrive in a few days.  S/T and Burnt Lips.  $4.99 and $2.99, respectively.  NM/M- rating on condition.  Maybe they are the ones I had lent out...LOL
@slaw  Shunyata makes a good number of power conditioner units.  Which one is it that you have been using?  I recently got an Audioquest Niagara 3000 so I am not about to change any time soon.  But I am interested and very curious on what the differences are of your Shunyata (which model?) and this new Puritan Audio PSM 156.

James Taylor  'Flag'  Promo copy, in excellent condition.  Sounds really good.

Emitt Rhodes  S/T  Solo artist, does all of the instruments on this recording.  I have had this since 1970 so it was played on my parents Magnavox console.  After a good US cleaning it's rather quiet.  Still, the overall SQ is not great.  But it does bring back high school memories.  It's a good album.  I have his second album as well, 'Mirror'.  I'll play that later or tomorrow.
@6t5-gto  I just got my first of the Verve 45Rrpm AP reissues, Getz/Gilberto.  As noted above, it's fantastic!  The music is wonderful and the production quality is superb.  I do want to get a few more of these issues.  However, I am not familiar enough with most of the artists.  Ben Webster meets Oscar Peterson looks rather interesting.  I'll take a few recommendations, please.  Thanks guys.
A couple of repeats here, because I haven't had them very long.

PJ Harvey  'To Bring You My Love'  Really good album, I'm so glad you guys got me aware of her.

Getz/Gilberto   Verve reissue, AP/GRP 45 RPM  Fantastic, they are in the room with me.  What depth!

T. Rex  'Electric Warrior'  I'm going through the 4 albums I have of T. Rex.  This is album #3.  I'll get to #4, The Slider, soon.
Dave Mason  'Alone Together'  pp pressing, this is an original swirled vinyl pressing.  I have had it a very long time.  And it is in perfect condition.  I saw Dave Mason perform about 6 months after this album was released.  First up was Arlo Guthrie, next up was Linda Ronstadt, and the lead act was Dave Mason.  Great memories!

Getz/Gilberto  A/P QRP 45RPM.  What a great album!  What a spectacular mastering/plating/pressing and quality quiet vinyl.
Joni Mitchell  'Blue'  (again).  Most definitely this album on the tube amp, on Saturday night, sounded much better than on my solid state amp today.  A very good comparison.

T. Rex   S/T, their first album.  In perfect condition, the SQ is good but not excellent.  The mixing is superb.  Really cool album.
A bunch of albums over 2 days, evaluating an amplifier.  It sounded fantastic!  I wish that my speakers were a little more efficient, but a little more on the volume control and I still achieved the SPL and energizing the room as I like.  And with plenty of safe operating headroom to spare.  The amp operated effortlessly.  This is the best sounding amp I have ever had in my possession.  Timbre balance is superb, vocals are so real, strings and wind instruments just grace my ears, piano really sounds like a piano (and that's a tough one to do well).  The music just floats in the air.  WOW!!!

John Mayall & Friends
Carol King  'Tapestry'  MoFi reissue
Jennifer Warnes  'Famous Blue Raincoat' Impex reissue
Joni Mitchell 'Blue'  Rhino/Reprise reissue (Joni sounded like in my room)
Jeff Beck  'Truth'
Jeff Beck  'There and Back'
Eric Clapton 'Unplugged'  Fantastic live-concert recording.
Patricia Barber  'Cafe' Blue'  Impex 1-Step
Pink Floyd  'Division Bell'  Pink Floyd Records, this is really great!
Stevie Ray Vaughan  'The Sky Is Crying'  A/P 33 RPM.  I almost cried         listening to Little Wing.
Paul Simon  'There Goes Rhymin' Simon'
Paul Simon  'Graceland'  25th Anniversary reissue.  Awesome SQ.

Jeff Beck  'Truth' sounds better on my solid state amp, I'm not sure why.  Everything else was just awesome.  This amp is really big so I will need to figure out something in order to make it work in my equipment rack.  Those tubes put out a lot of heat...  I'll probably figure it out, then place the order, and wait a month for delivery.
@slaw   Indeed, Cafe' Blue is on my list for tonight.  That album and on the 1-Step production, is sure to tell it all.

@gmercer  the Zeppelin album at MSG brings this to mind for me.  I forget the name of the album, but it's a 3 disc set, live album, that was recorded over 2 nights in 1973.  Is that the album you have? One of those two nights that went into the recording was at the Fabulous Forum in Inglewood, CA.  I was at that concert!!!  Maybe the other night of the recording was at MSG.  What memories...
I was able to take home the tube amp I have been interested in (BAT VK-76SE) and connected it yesterday.  Could only play a couple of albums due to relatives company coming over (with small children).  My speakers are borderline capable of being driven well by a tube amp (Dynaudio Contour 60i) at 4ohm and 88 db efficiency, so this is a real test for me.  Thus far the vocals and string instruments are heavenly and the music just floats from the speakers with wonderful spatiality, a bit better than my solid state amp (BAT VK-255SE).  However, the slam and grip that I am accustom to with the SS amp was not there, and I miss that.  Well, a list of albums for tonight will be the real test.  I'll be using some very familiar music.  It will include plenty of low frequency energy and mid-bass punch.  If this amp can cut the mustard than I will likely make the purchase.  If not, I will keep what I have (which is a wonderful amp, too).  Though I do want that lovely midrange sound the tube amp gave me yesterday, I just can't give up on the slam, grip and energized room for the total listening experience.
We shall see...
Reading this thread I often times get ideas of what to play, or what to buy.  So, Thin Lizzy, hey I think I have one of their albums.  I looked (everything is alphabetized) and sure enough, I have one album, 'Bad Reputation'.  I bought it new in 1977 and haven't played it in probably 40 years.  OK then, I'll clean it and play it later today.  I hope the SQ is good.  I know that I like the band.
Thanks for another good suggestion!
I was reading from these postings, about Sophia Pfister.  I went to her website and both of her albums first-release are sold out.  However, she has a reissue of her second album and it is being sold at a substantial discount from $25 to $5.  Shipping is an additional $7 so a total of $12.  I figured from what has been said about her I will take a shot at this reissue.  There are only 96 units available for sale and she states that when they are all sold that will be it, no more produced.
I thought you guys may want to know about this.
@slaw

Steve, I am not familiar with the steam process.  If you could enlighten me that would be most appreciated.

And yes, plenty of LPs have that "whoosh" sound on some revolutions, especially in the dead space between songs but some even during quiet passages of music.  It just comes with the vinyl category.  Expensive LPs, no, but mass produced LPs, especially classic rock from the 70s, yes.
Brian, enjoy the new phono stage.  It is so awesome to add a new component into the system and experience the results.  I'm addicted, but do need to watch the budget.  This hobby/addiction can get very expensive.  But oh, so good! 😊

Enjoy it in good health.
E.L.O.  'Face The Music'  Cleaned on the Degritter and is noticeably nicer than it has sounded in the past.  Great album!

Joni Mitchell  'Hejira'  I bought this on Discogs NM/M- and it arrived Wednesday.  It looked flawless but was dusty.  I cleaned it on the Nitty Gritty and then in the Degritter.  Immaculate to the eye.  Played it and, darn, noisy as can be.  I mean, a lot of noise.  Could it be a lousy pressing?  Could it have been previously played often on a worn, conical stylus?  A combination of these issues?  The music is wonderful but what a disappointment of the vinyl.  I'll try another "heavy" deep cleaning on the Degritter and hope for the best.  Any suggestions are welcome.
Beth Hart  "Fire On The Floor"  I recently received this and the music is fantastic.  The pressing quality left a bit to be desired though.  Higher frequency information was pushed in the background and lacking in clarity, or, "sparkle".  A High level cleaning in the Degritter brought that area of the music more forward.  I will do another High level cleaning cycle and see if I can get it to an even greater SQ.  Should be a good test.
Pink Floyd  "Meddle"  Pink Floyd Records reissue.  Excellent!

I'll do a few more Degritter cleaning tests today.  Up next is my original pressing of Houses Of The Holy.  I have owned it since first released and it's been played many times, especially when new, and always on a good TT and cartridge. Played it about 10 weeks ago and SQ was good but plenty of noise.  Let's see how that noise level can be addressed.  Hoping for the best.,
Jim, the Degritter is absolutely condo friendly.  Perfect size and easy to operate.  Fits right in as a quality component to any system.  And works exceptionally well.  I'm thrilled.
@slaw   Yes, the Degritter does come with one bottle of their cleaning fluid.  I used just 1ml (they suggest 1 to 2ml per tank).  Results were rather startling.  I found musical information I have never heard before.  Trailing strings, sizzle cymbals that seem to go on forever, layers of the smallest details that came to life.  And as expected, much lower noise from what must have been past contaminants, dust pushed deep down into the grooves, etc.  This machine is like adding a new component to my system.  I have to say "welcome to the world of ultra sonic cleaning".
The Degritter is made of excellent materials and the fit & finish is first class.  Spendy, but I am quite satisfied.
And of course, I did clean and listen to Tapestry...LOL
I got two MyMat.  The one I have on the bottom has the 4" hole and then the one on top has just the spindle hole.  The pliability of the material allows for the 4" record label to depress to the first MyMat.  SQ is remarkable, certainly a very good improvement over the felt mat I had.

Just finished cleaning a dozen records in the Degritter.  My tubes are warming up and I will play some records in just a bit.  Tonight is a better test, though.  Dim lights and some wine always improve the SQ.  I'll play familiar records to those settings in order to maintain consistency...😁
To answer, no, the Degritter did not arrive yesterday.  Delivery delay does have it on the truck to arrive today, though.  I will have fun over the weekend and offer my opinions sometime next week.

I have a copy of Tapestry from Mobile Fidelity, Gain-2, Limited Edition (#10,254) 33 RPM and it sounds WONDERFUL!!!  If I did not own this I would buy the 1-Step and get my order in ASAP.  I now have two 1-Step albums (Yes "Fragile" and Patricia Barber "Cafe' Blue) and they are stupendous.  Really, as good as it gets.  The first iteration of such a higher level for LP production was back in the early 1980s when MoFi produced a small number of titles they called UHQR (Ultra High Quality Record).  I bought a copy of "I Robot" when first released, which retailed for $50 and I got it for $35.  The limited production number I have is 664.  In NM condition to this day, of course.  If you can find one they were last going for between $425 and $500.  I will never sell this one.  Anyway, I do believe that buying an extra copy of any 1-Step issue to sell at a substantial profit at a later date is a good investment.  But I would strongly suggest keeping a copy for yourself, too.  As I said, an "extra copy" for the profit purpose.  1-Step is the latest state-of-the-art in LP production quality.  There simply is no better.

I will just have to play Tapestry this weekend.  Let's see (or, hear) if the Degritter can bring out another level of musical SQ.  I am very familiar with what Tapestry sounds like on my rig.  This will be a fun time of it.
"Oh, Yeah?" is a very good album.  I can see now why Jeff Beck chose Jan Hammer to do a live album release.  They play together perfectly. Great music and I am glad to have it in my collection.  I have listened to it a few times already.  Thank you for the recommendation.

What will be fun is after my Degritter arrives (FedEx Tracking still says Thursday) I will clean my original copies of some albums I have repurchased (reissues) and compare the SQ.  Will the Degritter significantly do away with the old record noise?  Will the original pressings sound as good or even better than the reissues?  Examples:  Tommy (original and Geffen reissue), Supper Session (original and Speakers Corner reissue), Tumbleweed Connection (original and the reissue), etc...  Also, many other older albums that are quite noisy.
I am really looking forward to the ultra sonic experience of bringing me closer to the music.
I will indeed let you all know.
Thanks so much guys.  PopMarket has it on backorder.  Wall Mart is much more expensive than Amazon for this one.  So, Amazon it is.
This should be a treat, bringing back great memories, and on vinyl.
@reubent  Yes indeed, it is the very same concert that I saw and we knew that going into it.  That's why I would like to get the 33 track set.  Check this out, it was an all day concert event at the Anaheim Angels Ballpark.  I was about 80 feet from the stage, dead center.  Opening act was Blues Image, next up was John B Sebastion, next up was Jesse Colin Young, next up was Leon Russel, and then finally The Who.  WOW!!!
I looked on Elusive Disc and Acoustic Sounds and can not find the album you described.  Only a reissue of Live At Leeds (180 gr, same 6 songs) and a used offering of the box set I have (at $225 and I paid $100).  What label is it one and/or can you direct me to where I can buy it.  It's something I would like to have.
Thank you very much.
@boxer12  I wish the best for you wife.  I hope the test results provide very good news.  Stay well and healthy.

@reubent  thanks for the heads up on the Live At Leeds.  I have an original pressing (well worn) and a box set The Who put out a number of years ago with a fresh vinyl disc and that also includes CDs with the recordings from Leeds and Hull (another venue in England).  It's fun to compare the two performances.  I'll have to check into this 3 LP edition for all of those extra songs.

I have seen The Who 5 times.  The last two times were about 10 years ago.  However, the first three times included the North American Tours of Tommy (about 2 months after the Live At Leeds album first released), then Who's Next, then Quadrophenia.  Memories for life!!!  Living and growing up in Southern California provided incredible concerts for basically every great band there is.
I've been unavailable for a while (again).  But Friday - Sunday played a good number of tunes.

Van Der Graff  'Still Life'  Interesting album
Van Der Graff  'The Quiet Zone/The Pleasure Dome'  Better than the other one and actually pretty cool.  Both of these have very good SQ.
Traffic  'Low Spark of High Heeled Boys' Reissue and really great!
Beth Hart  'Fire on the Floor'  Excellent album!  SQ is a bit too laid back on the drums and cymbals. I was surprised on that.  But great otherwise.
Love  'Forever Changes'  Reissue and what a great album.  Brings me back to my freshmen year of high school.  Really good vinyl and SQ.
John Mayall & Friends  'Along for the Ride'  Superb album, outstanding guest musicians, fantastic grade of vinyl and production quality.  SQ is wonderful, as is the music.  This one will get a lot of play.

I ordered a Degritter ultra sonic record cleaner last week.  Currently in route, FedEx Tracking shows it will arrive by Thursday.  I got a screaming deal on it, which really helps (they are expensive!).  I'll report back on just how well it does for my records SQ.  I anticipate excellent results.
@noromance   I have both of those Van Der Graaf albums, original UK pressings.  They are in perfect condition but I have not listened to them since the mid-to-late 80s.  I'll clean and spin them this week due to seeing your posting of listening to them.  I can't even remember what the music is like.  Am I in for a treat?  Is the SQ really good?  Please let me know.
Thanks.
I've been on and off the turntable due to having other things to accomplish.  However, the last few days I have played a number of LPs in the process of evaluating my new double MyMat system.  I am relying on very familiar albums so I can best judge between the OEM mat and the MyMat.  So far, MyMat has been the best improvement for the least amount spent.  In fact, it's quite good and has shown just how poor the OEM mat is.  More still to spin and then I will send a summary to slaw.

John Mayall   'Blues From Laurel Canyon'
Frank Zappa   'Apostrophe'
Dire Straits   'Brothers In Arms'
Manfred Mann   'Watch'
Steely Dan   'Gaucho'
Donald Fagan   'The Nightfly'
Stevie Ray Vaughan   'In Step'
Beach Boys   'Surfs Up'
Barrabas  S/T
Roxy Music   'Avalon'

@spiritofradio   Yes, it was Slaw that turned me on to Barrabas.  The description he sent was that the album is like a blend of Santana, funk, and something else, I forget exactly what that was.  I wanted to add that to my collection and sought it out on Discogs.  I found a NM/M- copy for around $12 or $15.  It turned out to be so good that I have played it probably a dozen times over the past 3 months.
I understand there are a number of Barrabas records and I am not sure if they are different bands or the same album title.  The one you want to get is 1975, has the cover art of a large, screaming face/head that is fairly orange in color and is a drawing, not an actual picture.  The background color is a light blue.
The music is great, the vinyl quality of my copy is very quiet, the dynamics are excellent.  A really great album.  Just checked Discogs and found 5 NM/M- available in U.S. ranging from $8, $10, $16 and one at $25.  Strongly recommend.
I have to say, this is a really good group of people.
So much better than reading a lot of snark garbage on other threads.
Cheers to good music and good people👍

@elliotbnewcombjr  I have an original copy of the 1962 release of West Side Story, the original soundtrack recording on Columbia Masterworks.  The vinyl is VG+ (or better) and the jacket is VG++.  It was played numerous times on my parents Magnavox console so I am hoping that there isn't too much groove damage.  I am waiting to acquire an ultra sonic cleaner and will do a deep clean on this album.  Then, I hope to enjoy a real classic with (hopefully) little in the way of noise.  Awesome gatefold jacket with a bunch of great pictures of movie scene shots on the inside and a full size picture on the back of Natalie Wood and Richard Beymer.  A true classic from my childhood.
Steppenwolf  "Monster"  Had to spin this again before filing it away.  Side 2 is my favorite musically and seems to be the best in SQ as well.

Christopher Cross S/T  I received this last year as a gift.  A Japanese pressing with OBI.  The music is very "studio" sounding, but nice.  The SQ is really good.

John Mayall & Friends "Along for the Ride"  I had this on order for a few months and it finally released and arrived yesterday.  John got a lot of friends to join him making this double album.  To name a few, Gary Moore, Peter Green, Mick Fleetwood, Mick Taylor, Billy F Gibbons, Steve Miller, John McVie... The music is fabulous, produced and pressed in Germany, the mixing/mastering/plating/pressing/vinyl quality are all superb.  Super quiet, black background, SQ is excellent!  If you are a fan of John Mayall this is one to add to your collection.  At only $23 it's a hands-down bargain.  Highly recommended.
@big_greg  Thank you for the information.  I will inspect both discs very closely before playing.  I'm reserving Saturday night for the first play of Cafe' Blue.  Late in the evening, a couple glasses of wine, should be perfect!
@gardners501  That is a wonderful turntable.  Congrats and do enjoy it.

Neil Young  S/T  What a great album.  The Loner, The Old Laughing Lady, and so many other greats on that album.

Procol Harum  "A Salty Dog"  I say them in concert only once, I believe that was in 1972.  Love Gary Brooker vocals.

Jeff Beck  "Truth"  Rod Stewart was at his best, IMO, when he was with Beck on this album.
@big_greg  Just yesterday I received my copy of Cafe' Blue Impex 1-Step, also purchased from Elusive.  I have not yet played it.  Is there something I should be aware of and looking (listening) for that would warrant a replacement?  Please let me know.
Thank you.
@bdp24  +1  I agree with your assertation 100%.  And, I also buy high quality reissues, with the same fervor you expressed.  Absolutely, some of my very best sounding vinyl.

Speaking of, I should seek out a copy of The Yes Album, Steven Wilson remix.  My original copy is quite good sounding, but too much vinyl noise. I anticipate that Steven Wilson made it a very worth while album to acquire.  Good idea, spirit.

For today...

Boz Scaggs  S/T  I bought this new in 1973, first issue was 1969.

Steppenwolf  "Monster"  Ver good album and the SQ is fairly good, too.

Lee Michaels "Carnival Of Life".  I was looking around for this over the past 2 years and found it at the LRS last week.  M- condition, sounds pretty good, too.  One of my favorites during high school.  I saw Lee Michaels perform 5 times from 1970 through 1972.  Loudest organ I have ever heard at a concert.

Vangelis  "Spiral"  I have had this for many years, saw it today and thought to give it a spin.  Early generation electronic music.  Interesting...

We've been stripping wallpaper so not much vinyl spinning the last few days.

Finally go to my new Iron Butterfly album.  But first...

Iron Butterfly  "Heavy"  My original copy from 8th grade was toast so I got a VG+ copy some years back to replace it.  Cleaned it today in the Degritter and it's fairly good and quiet.  The music brings back some wonderful memories.  It's actually my favorite from the band.

Iron Butterfly  "In-A-Gada-Da-Vida"  MoFi issue, Supervinyl.  I'll say, that Supervinyl sure is wonderful.  I think that MoFi did a great job capturing everything from the original analog tape.  Very good depth, separation, and every instrument is very well pronounced.  A bit tilted up, as Steve had said of his period press copy, but only on a few songs on side 1.  Overall it's very acceptable.  The album is an absolute classic and I am very glad that I got this new issue from MoFi.  Really, it sounds quite good.  Now I need to get a VG+ or NM/M- copy of "Ball" and my Iron Butterfly collection will be complete.

Dinner, then a Clippers NBA game, and more music later tonight.

I forgot to mention, I saw Iron Butterfly in 1970.  The Swing Auditorium, somewhere around 10th row, slightly off center stage.  I remember it to this day.😊

Jim, very good that you made the trip both safe and sound.  Welcome back to So Cal.  Really warm in So. Cal. for November at 88 degrees today.  Sure hope it cools off and that it rains.  We need the precipitation, desperately.

For those who want a good taste of nostalgia, in a high quality reissue, MoFi has released the Iron Butterfly "In-A-Gada-Da Vida" on SuperVinyl, mastered from the original master tapes and pressed at RTI.  Not cheap, at $59.99.  It's limited to 3,000 numbered copies.  Great fun and depth of organ music.  If you are interested they are available only at Music Direct and also direct purchase from Mobile Fidelity.  I ordered a copy last week from MoFi and received it today.  Number 1090.  If they are making 1,000 copies from a stamper (usually the case) then I have number 90 on the next stamper.  Ha!
