Hendrix  - Axis Bold as Love  - AP  UHQR  - awesomeness
 @slaw howdy, Sir
Man o man, in the words of Johnny Cash,  I've been everywhere, man...
Lots of work travel lately and a good bit of travel on the weekends for things like my father's 80th birthday,  fishing, etc... just not nearly as much time in front of the turntable.

You have a copy of Two Against Nature on Vinyl?!?

Pink Floyd  - Meddle  - reissue  - VVG
The Beatles  - Abbey Road  - 50th anniversary issue,  the low end is AWESOME

@slaw you have Two Against Nature on LP?? I didn't think there was such a thing. That is a ridiculously great recording and production. Have been hoping they would put it out on vinyl
Thanks, Slaw,  I will

The Cars  - Shake it Up  - Mofi - very, very good
Dave Brubeck  - Time Further Out - Impex Records  - absolutely stunning
Monk  - Straight, No Chaser  - also Impex Records  - staggeringly great

I just got back Chicago and picked up the two new Impex items when I stopped by Music Direct. The Impex stuff is soooooo great,  DEAD SILENT, dead flat, and the SQ is off the charts. I am just going to get everything I can by them

There are multiple copies on eBay at the moment, most of them are very cheap
@slaw no, sir. It is an LP. I think the song She Even Woke Me Up to Say Goodbye was released as a single but on the 12" LP it is the first track on side 2.
Great album during Jerry's honky tonk period and I love the record.
Rage Against the Machine - S/T
Jerry Lee Lewis  - She Even Woke Me Up to Say Goodbye- OP
Willie Nelson- Red Headed Stranger  - Impex Records - still blown away with how great this record is
Bill Evans  - Portaits in Jazz  - Mofi One Step  - awesomeness
Steely Dan  - Gaucho  - Bob Ludwig pressing
Ben Kweller  - Sha Sha
Sigur Ros  -  Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust - such a phenomenal album in every way
Jerry Lee Lewis  - She Even Woke Me to Say Goodbye  - one of my favorite country albums ever
Hey, @slaw  missed you (and others) as well, sir
Thank you,
Lots going on and have been traveling a lot for work and had some things going on that have made listening less easy to prioritize. Just landed back in Austin from back to back conferences today and hoping to spin a good bit of records tonight.
Did I recommend the Willie Nelson Impex reissue to you already?
Radiohead  - In Rainbows

The Cure  - Acoustic Hits - I love this record  SQ VVG and vinyl is pretty darn quiet
@reubent I do not have that one but will look for it. Thank you for the recommendation.
I have Stardust on Mofi and his Greatest Hits (and some that will be) and both of those are also excellent but this Impex version is on another level entirely.
I will look for the 1978 live album. Should be great.
Holy smokes!
Willie Nelson  - Red Headed Stranger  - Impex Records reissue.  Unbelievable, WOW o WOW o WOW.  Staggeringly awesome, dead silent vinyl, impeccable detail and SQ. I can not recommend this highly enough. Private Willie Nelson show in my listening room.
@slaw I have had the mono 45rpm of Dylan's Freewheeling for a while now and it is excellent. If you have it I highly recommend listening to Bob Dylan's Dream at 33rpm speed. I did it one day by mistake and enjoyed it so much I listened to it 3 or 4 more times that way.
Norah Jones  - Not Too Late  - Analogue Productions 200g 33rpm,  dead quiet vinyl, SQ EX++

Listening on a pair of just about mint Altec Model 19s that I picked up yesterday for my Father's upcoming 80th birthday in Sept. We had a pair these in our house from ~'76 to '83 when I was growing up and I am wondering if I just bought back our original pair?? They are awesome.
@slaw the speakers are a set of JBL 4430 Studio Monitors in almost mint condition. The detail is amazing but the bass is surprisingly weak for 15" drivers. Sticking with my 802's for now.

How did you like 1,000 Kisses?
Beck  - Sea Change  - excellent
Jillian Welch  - Soul Journey  - phenomenal
Billie Holiday  - All or Nothing at All  - Verve reissues on AP 200g 45rpm  - some of the best vinyl on the planet
Stevie Ray Vaughn  - Texas Flood  - Mofi One Step  - EX+
Bill Evans  - Sunday at the Village Vanguard  - AP 200g 45rpm  - impeccable,  I keep wanting to tell the folks at table 2 to shut up and watch the show.
@slaw bummed you missed him, would have loved to hear your take on AB show. He was here during SXSW and I am not a fan of SX shows so I missed him this tour as well.

Tonight- I am listening on a 'new to me' set of speakers
Dave Brubeck  - Time out  - AP 200g 33rpm, outstanding
Dire Straits  - Brothers in Arms
Norah Jones  - Come Away with Me  - AP 200g 33rpm
Ben Webster  - Gentle Ben  - AP 200g 45rpm  - impeccable,  phenomenal
Willie Nelson  - Greatest Hits  - SQ EX
Lou Donaldson  - Mr Shing-a-Ling  - Blue Note "Tone Poet" reissue  - SQ=EX+
@slaw if you have never seen AB live and you have a chance to tomorrow night I recommend it.  It is fascinating to watch him 'build' a song right in front of you.
Love the Andrew Bird discussion,  I am a big fan and have seen him about 9 or 10 times, phenomenal live, whether he is solo or with a few musicians (but solo is fairly incredible).
Armchair Apocrypha is, IMO, by far his best and I felt like one of the best albums put out around that time. Next would be Mysterious Production of Eggs and then maybe Noble Beasts although I don't like it nearly as much as the other two mentioned but SQ wise it is EX,  but if you aren't already a fan I am not sure I would start with it.

Tonight-
Lee Morgan  - Cornbread  - new Blue Note "Tone Poet" reissue,  very good, especially side 2

The Flaming Lips  -  The Soft Bulletin  - SQ = EX+ but Yoshimi is a better album (and also sounds fantastic)
Muddy Waters  - Folk Singer  - AP 200g 33rpm,  this record amazes me every time I put it on. Staggeringly great in every aspect
Nick Heyward  - North of a Miracle  - original pressing  - I have to admit that I am not nutso about the performance but the recording and production are amazing. SQ EX,  dynamics EX, low-end killer,  it is worth checking out as you can find copies for pennies on eBay.
Haircut 100 - Pelican West  - picked up a mint early pressing for dirt cheap,  this was a way better engineered and recorded record than I remember it being. The SQ, dynamics, and mastering of this record are EX
@tomic601 hey, Tomic, I am a big fan of old Genesis as well, I have heard there is to be a  new reissue of Seconds Out, I think by the same folks that did the AWESOME reissue of The Lamb (which is incredible minus one small pressing flaw) and is highly recommend.
I will likely get the SO reissue and do some comparisons. FYI
Bill Evans  - Portrait in Jazz  - Mofi One Step  - perfect
Tom Petty  - Full Moon Fever  - from first 9 box set reissue  - very very good
@slaw I will have to pick that one up. BTW, did you ever pick up a copy of 1000 Kisses by Patty Griffin, it is so great.

Sonny Rollins- Saxophone Colossus  - AP 200g 33rpm version, impeccable,  SQ EX
@slaw agreed, it would have been nice to have some better masters to work from but overall I just love the Dan and Aja is one of the few 'perfect' albums on my list.
OK Computer is a phenomenal record. Funny it is about 5th or 6th on my list of my favorite Radiohead albums. But utterly awesome nonetheless.
Steely Dan  - Aja - MFSL  - I love this record  - I was not crazy about the Mofi version but it has become a better copy than I remember it being  EX
R.E.M. - Murmur  - MFSL  - Holy smokes this is such a phenomenal pressing of this record. I have listened to this record hundreds of times but don't think I noticed until recently just how well recorded it was. I love early REM  SQ EX++
Radiohead  - OK Computer  - OKNOTOK box set , excellent  in every aspect

Bill Evans Trio  - Portrait in Jazz - Mofi One Step  - showed up today  - phenomenal.
Bill Evans - Sunday at the Village Vanguard  - AP 45rpm 200g set  - outstanding. The trio is playing my living room.
Another run through the Hendrix UHQR. Holy schittsticks! May be the best sounding vinyl I own
Eagles - Hotel California  - early pressing  - I am not really a big Eagles fan but I picked this one up as part of a collection that had lots of original and early pressings and I am working on my cleaning technique so I worked to see how quiet I could get this copy. SQ is actually pretty good
Eagles- S/T  - Early  pressing  - got this one almost mint  - SQ EX
