@tomic601 I'll join you on this. Such a gem.

The Grateful Dead – American Beauty (Warner Bros. 2011 RE 180)

@noromace  There is something to be said for vintage cartridges.

@nicks25 Indeedy. My main table has 2 Deccas from the 80s. Like you, I've never bought any major cartridges. Always been a MM tube phono man.

Haresuite – Circle Of Friends (Haresuite 1983)

...

Mary Lu Walker – Middle Age, Middle Class, Mama Songs (K&R 1979)

This is an oddity. Songs in the naive country folk style from a Mama to her growing up kids. Cute and musical. Very nice recording. Little gem.

House to myself. DVDs. Loud.

Roger Waters - The Wall, Live in Berlin (1990)

Roger Waters – In The Flesh, Live (2000)

"Would you like to see Britannia
Rule again my friend?
All you have to do is follow the worms
Would you like to send our coloured cousins
Home again my friend?
All you need to do is follow the worms."

@bslon Not many around here playing Roy. I played it at AXPONA in the Acora room. I think it was Jeffery Catalano's copy.

Roy Harper / Flat Baroque and Berserk

@bslon Yes. I've some stories best left untold!

Brian, I’m picturing a bit of a character

Tom Waits – Franks Wild Years (Island 1987)

Bought it when released. Love it.

Holly Golightly And The Brokeoffs – Dirt Don't Hurt (Damaged Goods 2008)

Ralph Sutton, Ruby Braff, Milt Hinton, Mousey Alexander – On Sunnie's Side Of The Street (Blue Angel Jazz Club 1968)

Daniel Martin Moore – Turned Over To Dreams (Sofaburn 2017)

Delicate and sublime. Only for good souls. Recommended.

Firehouse Five Plus Two – The Firehouse Five Story, Vol. 2 (Good Time Jazz 1958)

Franz Lehár - Kölner Rundfunk Chor Und Orchester – Paganini (RCA 1978)

The heavy metal of opera. Sort of. In honor of Taylor Hawkins.

Alice Gerrard & Mike Seeger – Alice Gerrard & Mike Seeger (Greenhays 1980)

Like a country bluegrass version of Incredible String Band. Good stuff. Half bro of Pete. Decent recording.

Antal Dorati Conducting The Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra / Stravinsky –Petrouchka (Mercury 1955 mono) side 1

These old mono Mercury recordings have some wonderful soundstage depth in the bass. Timpani are visceral. Upper mids are a little aggressive when things get going. I wonder if it’s some kind of clipping in the recording chain. Massed brass etc.

Mendelssohn / Bruch / Zino Francescatti, Szell, Schippers – Concerto In E Minor For Violin And Orchestra, Op. 64 / Concerto In D Major For Violin And Orchestra, Op. 35 (Columbia Masterworks 1962)

Renata Tebaldi – Selections From The World’s Greatest Operas (United Artists 1962 mono)

This is wonderful. If your table can track the last cut on side 1, Giordano's La Momma Morta, without distortion, you're golden.

@slaw don't hold back, man! How are they?

Installed the Townshend Pods under each wall shelf.

The New Orleans Ragtime Orchestra – The New Orleans Ragtime Orchestra Volume II (Pearl 1971)

First Aid Kit – Who By Fire - Live Tribute To Leonard Cohen (Columbia 2021)

The Incredible String Band – The Big Huge

(4 Men With Beards 2011 RE 1968)

Earlier

II Generation – We Call It Grass (Rebel 1975)

Buddy Tate / Humphrey Lyttelton – Kansas City Woman (Black Lion 1975)

Tammy Grimes – The Unmistakable Tammy Grimes (Columbia 1963)

~ just great stuff!

David Bromberg – David Bromberg (Columbia 1971)

Julia Lee & Her Boy Friends – A Porter's Love Song (Jukebox Lil 1985 mono)

Ella Johnson With Buddy Johnson And His Orchestra – Say Ella (Jukebox Lil 1985 mono)

Jimmy Rushing With Oliver Nelson And His Orchestra Featuring Dickie Wells – Every Day I Have The Blues (Bluesway 1967 mono)

Good stuff, Jim. Nice to see Brian over there too. Interesting how the high pass cleaned things up. Now, you have me thinking if my ESL need a pair of small RELs.

Jody Miller – Wednesday's Child Is Full Of Woe (Capitol 1963 mono)

Kid with great voice.

Mireille Mathieu – Mireille... Mireille (Barclay 1969)

When the table can track this, you know all is well.

Big Jay McNeely – Deacon Rides Again (Imperial 1983)

...

Ruby Braff / George Barnes Quartet With John Giuffrida & Wayne Wright – The Ruby Braff and George Barnes Quartet (Chiaroscuro 1973)

Roy Harper – The Sophisticated Beggar (Science Friction 2019)

Reissue, Remastered. Autographed. I bought this at a gig and today is the first time I played it. SpinCleaned. I have the original and I was interested in hearing the remaster. Sounds pretty good for a digital notwithstanding the usual glare. However, the vinyl has more noise than the almost worn out 1967 original I have. It’s acceptable and not a big deal but it’s indicative of the current process.

Frank Zappa And The Mothers Of Invention – One Size Fits All (Discreet 1975)

Sterling recording and SQ. Hard to believe it's 47 years old.
