How’s the SQ, is it a digital recording? One of my favorite albums on my server.

@sbank It’s pretty good. Not 1962 analog but it's Tucker Martine produced so clear, warm and dynamic with quiet vinyl.

Background music tonight but having a blast (for a lonely audiophile!) replacing 100 old dull outer plastic sleeves on some older records. I’m finding dull sleeves easily 35 years old. Also some glue repairs to a few split covers. Night and day difference in how they look. Best $36 spent in a while. Bought another 100.

Alice Cooper – Billion Dollar Babies (Warner Bros. 1973)

With original billion dollar bills.

Just brought up the humidifier from the basement. It’s winter. Humidity down to 22% today.

Yup. I have to ground myself off the metal Lally column before touching the headshell lift. Otherwise...

Elvis Costello - Secret, Profane & Sugarcane
(Hear Music 2009) Sides 3/4.

Georgia Brown – Sings Kurt Weill (London 1962)

A great record. Great songs and voice. Sweet recording.

Various – Fast Folk Musical Magazine: Live At The Bottom Line 89 (Fast Folk Musical Magazine 1990)

Took day off to get some music in. Wish my bored, retired, leaf-obsessed neighbor on the leafblower would shut up.

Various – Fast Folk Musical Magazine: Volume 4 No. 5/6 - The 6th Anniversary Issue (Fast Folk Musical Magazine 1988)

Awesome collection of US lefty folk songs.

Holly Golightly And The Brokeoffs – Nobody Will Be There (Damaged Goods 2011)

Leafblower joke:

What did the Valley girl leafblower say?

"Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh"

Hawkwind - Hall of the Mountain Grill (Bronze 1974)

Jefferson Airplane – Flight Log (Grunt 1977)

Django Reinhardt Et Le Quintette Du Hot Club De France – Django Reinhardt Et Le Quintette Du Hot Club De France (Barclay 1968)

Easy bistro guitar Jazz. Sweet.

Peter Ludwig, Peter Wöpke, Arben Spahiu – Café Banlieue (Farao Studios 2006)

Various – When The Wind Blows (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) (Virgin 1986)

Side 2 / Roger Waters. A mini-album on its own.

Stark reminder that the militaries are the single biggest threat to humanity. #defund

"Rode the six hundred"

@tomic601 Herself makes pumpkin pies from scratch too.

Laurie Anderson – Home Of The Brave (Warner Bros. 1986)

Another 100 outer sleeves replaced.

I will not use heat gun to remove sticker on cover with record inside.

@tomic601 I’ve removed scores of stickers from album covers with my very precise heat gun. Last night, a senior moment of neglect had me attack a pretty stubborn son of a b. With the record still inside. Needless to say, it’s bye-bye dimple time.. Out of annoyance and guilt, I bought a new copy.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Grateful to be able to live this life with music, the wherewithal to enjoy it, the good food, family and friends.

Geminiani - Anthony Pleeth, Richard Webb, Christopher Hogwood – Six Cello Sonatas, Op.5 (L’Oiseau-Lyre 1976)

Melody Gardot – My One And Only Thrill (Verve 2009)

When I first played when it was released, I didn’t like it at all and it sounded dull and flat. Second time was years later and it sounded a good bit better. Playing it now and it’s like a different album, both musically and SQ. Still a little peaky in the mid-bass. Quality of kit is so important.

Carolyn Hester - S/T (Columbia 1961 mono)

Love her voice. She's 84 now and still touring.

@sbank I’m not sure what’s more amazing- that you got an average price of over $100 each, or that you could afford to part with so many collectibles!

I brought in a dozen collectibles and scored a $1250 credit.

Harold Budd, Elizabeth Fraser, Robin Guthrie, Simon Raymonde – The Moon And The Melodies (4AD 1986)

Short session tonight. Herself cooked another Thanksgiving dinner and the tryptophan kicked in.

Sammy Davis Jr., Carmen McRae – Porgy And Bess (Decca 1959)

Sarah Vaughan – After Hours With Sarah Vaughan (Columbia 1955 mono)

The New Stan Getz Quartet Featuring Astrud Gilberto – Getz Au Go Go (Verve 1964)

Nothing’s on my turntable due to some ham fisted moron sending the tonearm flying across the LP

@emailists You are not alone. I know another idiot who destroyed a valuable Decca cartridge doing the same thing. Thankfully not recently.

@spiritofradio @tomic601 Interesting sub notes on the Quads. I used to have an older Strada lll sub on my ESL rig. Moved it around some but never really loved it. It's since burnt out and I use S3 on my second system to great effect. I've been tempted to add a pair of smaller T5x to the ESLs. Your comments tempt me to make a move. Was looking forward to a tax rebate but got stiffed big time with a bill.

Firehouse Five Plus Two – The Firehouse Five Story, Vol. 2 (Good Time Jazz 1958)

Bo Diddley, Little Walter, Muddy Waters – Super Blues (Checker 1967)

Bobby Hackett – Creole Cookin (Verve 1967)

Keely Smith – I Wish You Love (Capitol 1957)

Porcelain Raft – Strange Weekend (Secretly Canadian 2012)
