@boxer12,

You seem to always post records I'm not familiar with. You are a step or two ahead of me for sure.

Happy Listening!
A line from the John Moreland Lp..." I wanna find my faith from records long ago" Wow!
Well "Are You Experienced" (stereo). Of course this is in it’s unnatural state. I really don’t know why on some tracks, Jimi’s voice is centered, yet on others, it comes full left? Anyway, I now find this lp, (while surprisingly clear) to be a little too upfront/in your face.
Yes sir!

The New Basement Tapes  "Lost on the River"

John Fahey "America" 4 Men With Beards
Tom Petty  "You're Gonna Get It!"  from the box set....again

sounds sooooooo good.
@reubent,

If you haven't heard it yet?....you should check out her Live lp..if only for The Twins interpretation of "Sounds of Silence"  Very Nice!

Next is "Eat A Peach" freshly cleaned...just as a peach should be.

Then..."Machina" Smashing Pumpkins. I believe this was the lp right after Siamese or Mellon Collie? This will be my first time listening since I bought it...... although I’ve owned it since it’s inception. Memories?????

The Pumpkins were my favorite band of the 90’s. Saw them right after D’arcy was replaced by the bassist from Hole. They did a great cover of VanHalen’s "Everybody Wants Some". Jimmy Chamberlin had two drum kits.
@reubent

What do you think? I loved it! I own most of her stuff. This latest was by far, her best, IMO. If you don't own her other stuff, it may be hard to make any judgement.
BTW, "Machina" is excellent! The music is really good and the sq is great! Why I did not pay attention years ago, I do not know.
Up next... a few John Hiatt lps..yaw’ll !!!

gonna add in some …

Hall & Oats "H 2 O"... a gifted lp that is perfect!

Shelby Lynne "I Can’t Imagine"

Men @ Work  "Business as Usual"

…………..

@boxer12,

"Black Star"

You need to listen to this one...late at night (dude).

(Randy California was Jimi’s mentor.)
@tomic601 , @bgross,

Wasn’t Michael Kelly involved with ADS speaker designs, then went on to form Aerial?

Back in the day, I was big into installing systems in my vehicles. I had some ADS 320i (I think that’s the correct nomenclature) in the doors, Nak TD-700 deck........lovin’ it! Still have the TD-700 btw.
@tomic601 ,

The TD-700 had the manual head adjustment feature. The only other Nak deck w/ that, to my knowledge was the 1200. The 1200 eschewed the auto-reverse, for the more be prescise manual flip. Makes perfect sense. The tape head being stable.

I had a friend with a 70s Oldsmobile 442. It had a factory cassette deck with that same feature. Wow!

@boxer12,

Thank you so much for that info!

I'm familiar with Jay Ferguson. I own a 45 rpm pressing of "Thunder Island"

Spirit  =  Randy California????
When I’m listening to music.. I’m happy.

When I hear my doorbell ring....I’m out of my element.

Well, unless, upon looking on my porch, I see a package that resembles a lp. Now.. I’m getting excited!

I just received the Emmylou Harris "Wrecking Ball" deluxe edition//3 LP version.

Also...…….

Yes, "Tales of Topographic Oceans" WOW!

Now...Who do you love.....whooooooo……..
John Moreland "In The Throes"

Looking at my cleaning notes, last time this lp was cleaned...was with my pre-steam, then the Audio Desk, 3 years ago. It just doesn’t look nearly as clean as the results I’m getting now. I was using distilled water with AD additive. Not cheap.

If you’ve gone to the "Thumbs up for ultrasonic cleaning " thread, you can follow my ongoing history with US cleaning. After 4 years with the Audio Desk, I had improved results with my first try with the Chinese cleaner/distilled water, no additive.
$3k vs. $250.00 (including filtering/pump. Wow!

The AD cleaner is a great convenience product.

I sure don't won't to come off as the know-it-all of record cleaning but I have put in the time and expense while documenting it all here.
On "All Apologies" easy to hear their timing/note mistakes that I never noticed before
@noromance ,

This tape may be a better solution to your teflon tape/fuse tweak?

I'll definitely try it there
I find my US version/"Going for the One" to be too forward,/lacking "soul".
@tomic601 ,

I've come to realize that you're a more tortured soul than I ever realized.
"even we’re both lying here in this bed together, I believe we’re laying here alone",.

David Allen Coe
So at that time in history, someone in car manufacturing had enough pull to integrate this feature that even now would not be seen as having value.
"Rides Again" is definitely an underrated country lp. Thoroughly enjoyable!!!

Thanks for the update @uberwaltz.
Since my last post regarding "In The Throes", I put it through a 50 minute US clean. It came in out with a sheen that was not there before.

Such a good lp by a great artist, I don't mind listening again!
I put John Morelands 2nd & 3rd lps in the US cleaner....like money in the bank!

Amos Lee "Last Days at the Lodge"
Luna *Lunafied"  RunOutGroove.
Steamed, not yet US cleaned. The best is yet to come.
You've posted in the past that you feel blessed. I truly believe in that and I believe you are blessed.
I think that most of us who LOVE music have a tortured soul. Then it becomes the degrees, and how that could be measured.
@drrsutliff , @spiritofradio,

Got the "Enabler" today. When I mount it, I'll report back.
I'm a big fan! Actually, saw I'm with her, a couple years ago. Finally bought the lp. Sounds great!

I got a few in from Plaid Room this week Tom. I've had nothing but good experiences so far.

I remember that deck@reubent. Nakamichi was a company way ahead of it's time.

Forward thinkers.
Seals & Croft "Diamond Girl", owned it since ’73, still sounds great!

@boxer12,

I love Jason Molina, I think I own most of his vinyl.

When I get around to listening to the Yes, I’ll report back.

@reubent,

I'd be interested in your impressions of the latest Father John Misty. I was not as enthusiastic with his last lp which is why I passed on this latest.
Hi all, warming up with "Blessed" again from last week.

Got the new Lucinda in as well!
