playing a new record i got today: "strange world" on mississippi records. "cosmic and earthly doo wop and r&b from america and jamaica"

big stack of 45s on my twin technics tonight. low rider oldies, doo wop, forgotten boogie and deep soul cuts. most fun ive had in weeks

money chicha - chicha summit

enormous, gigantic psychedelic cumbia record. highly recommended for fans of legends like los doltons, los mirlos, juaneco etc. this band is contemporary & based out of texas. heavyweight. maybe my favorite new record i heard in the last few months

@femoore12 monophonics are so good. their album from last year has been in rotation in my house since it came out. imho colemine is a great contemporary label in general, haven't heard a single weak release from them

all acoustic - djembe, ubo, agidigbo, toromagbe, and voice. supernaturally good sounding record, just gorgeous

bunch of stuff tonight (as ever) but currently it's a numero reissue of masumi hara - yume no 4 bai. happy new year to my favorite thread on audiogon 🍻🥃
