Gregg Allman / Laid Back
2015 Analogue Productions, orig. 1973

Fabulous SQ on these records tonight!

Steely Dan / Aja
1977 ABC

Back from some R&R on the Oregon Coast, blue skies and ocean breezes.. Needing some high-fidelity tonight, this LP does it.

Hey @bdp24

Wow, no kidding about the sad ending! I’d recently played The Textone’s Midnight Mission, a fabulous record, and recognized Seymour’s name. Thanks for your posts, great reads!

Edie Brickell & New Bohemians / Shooting Rubber Bands At The Stars
1988 Geffen

+1 Rides Again MFSL
I was slower on the draw than you, #3652 😎
Good to see The Vid didn’t slow you down much Steve.

@spiritofradio

I streamed Covet after your mention and liked what I heard. Also web searched and found Yvette Young is a self taught guitarist and fronts the band. The photo on the link shows her with the 7 string guitar, pretty cool! I can see getting blank stares at the mention of Math Rock…🤔

Covet, interesting sound James. I’d not heard the term Math Rock before.

Lemonheads / It’s A Shame About Ray
2022 Fire R-I, orig. 1992

Arrived today. I had the cassette (with high miles) back in the day but not the LP. A mention from @loomisjohnson reminded me I needed the LP. Have never heard of Fire Records, this double LP is really quiet with decent SQ.

The Jimi Hendrix Experience /  Are You Experienced?
2022 Analogue Productions UHQR #008016, orig. 1967

Expensive but an essential reissue (imo) for Hendrix fans.

Little River Band / S-T
1975 EMI (Australia)

High level SQ on this, Firefall too. Some surface noise on Pablo Cruise or it’d be up there too.

Elizabeth Cook / Aftermath
2020 Argent Love Records

I’m liking Aftermath (double LP). Butch Walker (Marvelous 3) contributes on a lot of songs. I like Marvelous 3, and “Day Drunk” on his 2011 album The Spade gets some play on Little Steven’s Garage XM channel, as does Cook’s “Thick Georgia Woman”. Good stuff.

An afternoon playing Tom Petty records, oh yeah! Fun stuff Brian! And Jim!

+1 Mary Chapin Carpenter’s The Dirt & The Stars. I picked that up after a post of yours Steve. The clear vinyl spinning on the TT is like a hypno-disc, weird.

The Grassroots / Feelings
1967 Dunhill

if SiriusXM had a Hippie Music channel (I wish!), it’d play a lot of The Grassroots.

Deep Purple / Shades Of Deep Purple
2015 Parlophone R-I, orig. 1968

A well done reissue of this great record.

Midnight Oil / Blue Sky Mining
1990 Columbia

Very cool translucent blue vinyl, given as a gift from my daughter years ago. Awesome! Not the highest SQ but the imaging makes up for that. When “Forgotten Years” comes on, I can’t. sit. still. 😎

Mark Eitzel - Hey Mr Ferryman. Merge Records 2017

Hi Brian, do you have others from Merge Records? I got one recently, the surface noise is atrocious. I’m wondering about the quality. Hopefully mine’s an anomaly.
