Dire Straits - S/T

1978/2019 MFSL 45 RPM Remaster

MFSL may be getting a lot of bad press lately but I can't imagine this album sounding any better. For years I thought my early original WB copy was one of the best sounding records in my collection and it does sound great but the MFSL remaster takes it to another level.

CCR - Cosmo's Factory

1970/2014 Fantasy Records Reissue

Super clean pressing from QRP.

According to the Acoustic Sounds website the Deja Vu info is below.

Mastered by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Studios

Pressed at Optimal in Germany

It looks like it is the same as what they released in the box sets in 2021 but this release will only be the original single album cuts.

Does anyone have experience with the box sets?

@slaw

Roger that. I'll be sure to post my thoughts when the album is received and given a serious listen. It is an Atlantic Records remaster sold through Acoustic Sounds so unfortunately not from Analog Productions.

I've got a long list of albums that I wish Analog Productions would consider and release.

C,S,N&Y - Deja Vu

1970 Atlantic Records

The title track is a beautiful and complex David Crosby masterpiece.

My original early pressing with great Audiophile SQ but with just a bit more background noise from the years than I care for so I have placed a preorder for the soon to be released 2021 remaster from Acoustic Sounds. Says it is pressed at Optimal in Germany. Hope I'm not disappointed.

Black Crowes - Three Snakes And One Charm

1996/2015 American Recordings Reissue

Super clean and great sounding reissue.

Earth, Wind & Fire - Gratitude

1975 Columbia Records

My favorite from that era.

SQ is super. The horns and bass guitar are fantastic.

Allman Brothers - Seven Turns

1990/2005 Epic/Friday Music Remaster

Average White Band - AWB

1974/2017 Atlantic/Friday Music Remaster

Not bad for a bunch of Scottish dudes.

Good remasters on both by Friday Music

+1 on the Eels plays last night.

Eels - Shootenanny!

2003 DreamWorks on CD

Beatles - Sgt Pepper

1967/2017 Half Speed Remaster on Parlophone.

Outstanding stereo remaster by Giles Martin.

Followed by....

Jeff Beck - Truth

1968/2009 Epic/Sundazed Mono Remaster

The Beatles - Help!

1965/2009 Remaster - Parlophone Canada

The album was released during their more folky period just before Rubber Soul so it is beyond me why they would have included Dizzy Miss Lizzie on the album. It's hard to believe that they didn't have another song that would have better fit the mold of the album.

Another +1 for Eddie V @slaw

Now I'll have to play.........

PJ - Vitology

1994 Epic Records

+1 @sbank for Better Oblivion and Conor Oberst and Phoebe Bridgers!

Patty Griffin - American Kid

2013 New West Records

John Lennon - Plastic Ono Band

1970 Apple Records

Traffic - On The Road

1973 Island Records

King Crimson - Starless And Bible Black

1974 Atlantic

Strawbs - Ghosts

1974 A&M

Fleetwood Mac - Bare Trees

The Danny Kirwan/Bob Welch years. Some of my favorites from Mac.

1972 Reprise Records

Jethro Tull - Minstrel In The Gallery

1975 Chrysalis Records

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers - Hard Promises

1981 Backstreet Records

Bruce Springsteen - Darkness On The Edge of Town

1978/2014 Columbia Remaster

Jeff Beck Group - S/T Orange

1972 Epic Records

Great SQ by all accounts tonight.

Procol Harum

Shine On Brightly

1968/2017 A&M - Varese Vintage Reissue

Home

1970 A&M

Allman Brothers Band - Seven Turns

1990/2015 Epic/Friday Music remaster

Good job by Friday Music. Much better than the Mercury remasters of their first two albums.

Cleveland Orchestra - George Szell

Symphony No. 9 in D Minor, OP 125 "Choral"

1978 Columbia Odyssey - White label Demo

@bslon

+1 on Thick As A Brick

I had just played my early Reprise Records copy and thought the SQ was excellent and it has held up well over the years with minimal noise.

I noticed there is a 50th anniversary version coming out but I'm skeptical that it won't match up to the original pressings. I'll wait for some reviews.

Loggins and Messina - S/T

1972 Columbia

Nice sounding pressing. Great job by Jimmy Messina producing especially on Angry Eyes.

@slaw

+1 on Father John. I streamed his latest Chloe … and GFC still holds as my favorite of his. Great album. He is definitely an interesting artist.

Back to Eddie

Eddie Vedder - Into The Wild

2007/2010 MOV Reissue

Great movie also.

Jethro Tull - Thick As A Brick

1972 Reprise Records

Great SQ on this early copy.

@slaw

I very much enjoy most of the songs on Eddie's new album Earthling and definitely more than the last few Pearl Jam albums. I do wish he would have included a few of his acoustic based songs instead of some of the faster paced songs as his acoustic songs were always my favorites on the Pearl Jam albums.

One of my biggest regrets as far as concerts go was not seeing Eddie on his solo tour after the release of Ukulele Songs. Big mistake that I still regret to this day.
