@spiritofradio,

James, I enjoyed reading your record store exploits. You're a good writer.

Back in my Stereophile reading days, one of the features they did that I truly enjoyed was the visits to record stores in their travels.

Yeah, only now I have an in-line volume control (SPL Volume 2)

I plan on trying a passive later.

Joel,

I had a local friend with VPI TNT jr/ET 2/Herron/Marantz amp/Audio Artisrty open baffle speakers......
Oh yeah, Lyra Delos.

Listened a LOT.

He had his system set up to be bright.

We listened to one another’s system at great length.

I bought my K&K Audio Trio after this.

The only reason the K&K phono stages aren’t in the current discussion is they are no longer made.

My Trio listed for $1k less than the Herron and SQ was at least it's equal.

@big_greg,

Does that mean Keith will let you audition an ordered component on trial?
@big_greg,

You asked last week about the Lucinda lp.....

First listen was kind of a shock because I didn't know what to expect. Second listen and I'm really digging it. SQ is great, on par with most of her stuff. Recommended, especially if you're a fan.
Now... a flattened L Williams tribute to Tom Petty "Runnin’ Down a Dream" lp 1

A newly readjusted VTA/VTF...how about that!
You’re going in a similar direction as did I, when tube rolling my EAR 834P @bkeske.

You're on a much faster pace than I was.
Frank Black "S/T" remaster/2018-19/4AD

This was one of the lps I stood in line for at the last RSD events I attended. Just goes to show that they will usually be available later.
Greg,

From what I read in other threads, I just assumed you ordered the Herron?
James / Brian,

You guys have got to get this Norah Jones lp.

I was on the fence, but when I saw the song list that included Black Hole Sun, I pushed the order button.

Not disappointed at all!!!

Mott the Hoople "S/T"

1970/Atlantic/pp

This lp jacket has cool art work and photos.....

Currently using two Noteworthy Audio ICs in my signal chain. Breaking in

Wow, the clarity is remarkable.

Hey Joel,

I too have always had nothing but praise for the Impex stuff I own. That's why I was surprised by the amount of surface noise present. It sounds like teenie micro scratches. Mind you it's no way in your face but for a $50 lp, I expect more. Also, there's some low level ground noise for the first half of side one. I can overlook it if taking it out would've negatively impacted sonics.

Performance wise, it's great! I've had an interruption in my buying her stuff since Cole Porter, I think?? She is definitely taking chance and exploring new territory. I love her so it's easy for me to recommend the music.

I'm going try another copy. All of the three lps I received yesterday from ED had issues with the vinyl. That's the breaks I guess?

@spiritofradio,

James, my Universal remaster from 15/20 years ago? sounds amazing.

Has the original cover
I think I’m in love with Norah... again.

This record is amazing on it's own but also because it was recorded at different venues and sounds consistently amazing!
