I experience great feeling from “my” music and like an isolated captive get impulses to connect, and, like the collegian with dorm room windows flung wide and the Pioneer at 3 o’clock on the dial, even compulsions, to share my music and the experience engendered.

We are not all humble (music) monks are we.

@big_greg, @slaw

of course

don't mistake my self deprecating humor for limitations on the aspiration and inspiration.
It’s just that, we must admit to ourselves that this is a (minor) form of social media.

BTW i just about punched out a dude and his bromance concert attendee at Warren Haynes…dude was talking all night about mowing his lawn..while Warren was smoking….WTF….

I think I went to High School with that guy…

@reubent I forget if you know this band Tom.   I think if you like Son Volt you’d like this.
Hey Joel.  I’ve been working too much and not playing enough records.
@bslon, nice to see a post about golden earring.  I think we don’t have enough of them.
@reubent @big_greg KOA my favorite Elvis Costello album.   Putting it on deck.

Such great music before (and after) this from each of these guys, both separately and together, but this is going in the reject pile. Cover is pretty cool: best thing I can say about it.

@j_husker,

Bill Evans Trio-On a Friday Evening Craft

I’ve listened to all 4 sides of this one probably a dozen times since it arrived. Craft sometimes gets a bad rap for quality control, but this pressing is flawess.

I got this album and would say the same.   No such luck on some other Craft issues I’ve bought lately.  My copy of their Sarah Jarosz, Build Me Up From Bones, is warped and flakey, with the labels off center.  Similar experience with a couple others.  But I’m still glad to have them - for the good music.
Dang Brian, you’re on a nostalgic trip.  I recognize the pattern from my own thinking.
+1 on Gone to Earth.  One of my favorites for 12-string sound and a terrific record overall.   Nice choice @bslon.

“Apogee” sounds like a very good recording to me.  Bright and tight.  Great separation.  And whew! These guys can play.
Steve, Here’s a chorus for ya:

“Of all the things I value most in life
 I see my memories and feel their warmth
 And know that they are good
 You know that I should”

              Sabbath Bloody Sabbath.
Streaming "Apogee" now.  It’s a kick.  I can see what you mean about this being uplifting - when you’re in the mood for the sound of saxophone.
@bkeske,

Thanks for posting Brian.  I knew he had retired but I hadn’t heard about his passing.  RIP Maestro.
Must play his Bruckner No. 7 tonight: his final performance with the BP.
