The upper two I just lucked into on FB market. The blown one I bought early 2000 when I blew the original in my CD7. If I recall correctly for a time you could buy them from somewhere in Tennessee? Anyway, I'd love to know if someone is rebuilding these. There's an ADS guru doing it for ADS and Braun drivers."

what to do for a ALLISON C channel ?

Allison never really made ANY dedicated, properly configured Center channel speakers .
I pointed this out . it is true.
SO here are some ideas, and rationale please contribute to the discussion !
NO i do not have the skills and experience to build these to my ideas . I know someone who could however , I doubt they will they are just kickin' back too much these days !
Then ol' HF tries to say several Allison speakers can WORK as a C channel .stand in
No,
not really,
we need a horizontal configured speaker w/ two W both on the ends and a T on top, a Mid below it .( ot Two mids ) the CENTER CHANNEL is the MOST important speaker of all HT speakers .
The problem is noones C channel is BIG enough!
the C channel is the MOST important for movies, HT
most of them skimp on the W size , are only two-way and do not have a big enough Midrange
Even a really good c channel like the SVS has a lame small 4" mid . ( and NO magic ALLison dispersion ) !
MAYBE 2 allisons CD9 on their sides would work w/ reconfigured T & Mids big enough ?
why not mount them ( extra woofers , mid bass ,) push pull? and lets use the 9's 10" and some allison 8" and some allison 6" too yes mounted push pull as a 4 -5 way ? ( some think the 6" W of the AL125 have better upper bass ) system
yes we will use filter and a sub too all 90 hz? 80hz ? or ? ( you choose ) goes to sub
the C channel needs to be the BEST and Most expensive, biggest speaker of ALL
sorry many ( if not all hopefully ) you old school 2 channel aficionados just do not understand . Neither does HF He needs to think bigger , better .
He likes to mod Allisons make them franken speakers ! lets get busy ! apply that supposed genius ONE more time ! lets get a tour de force ! ( please use all Allison drivers ) 🙂
OH! look YT video guy already kinda proves it a good idea Two Center Channel Speakers - Yes Please! ( but he did not configure , reconfigure the tweets and mids did he ? NO 🥲

🙂WELL , THE CURRENT STATE OF THE 11.2 CENTER CHANNEL EXPERIMENT HAS US USING:

1) A YAMAHA a MST55D powered computer speaker ( a 8:" woofer and two two way satellites ,

2) a Vandersteen VCCC1 center channel

3) a ben Q trevolo desktop electrostatic speaker ! 2 flat panels ( very clean sound ! ) and 2 passive radiators and 2 4" woofers!

AND

we have a small Yamaha 10" sub woofer ! ( for the LooooooooW HZ! LOL

all above playing together and in mono it actually sounds GOOD!

Future experiments will include trying the Allison 2 way center chanell, speaker and trying the AL105, RA labs mini monitors , the AL110 and NL654 !

ultimately we plan to repurpose a AL130 to a horizontal , re arranged driver configuration L to R W-T/M-W super center channel speaker !

that will be ONE heavily modded speaker ! might even add some 6’ or 4 " Allison Woofers and make it a 4-5 way design! w/ 8" 6" and 4 " drivers 🙂
other photos, the useful binding post adaptors i found for sale ( gusess where ) !
