Update: I just got myself one of the new Rolex GMT-C Master II to add to my little collection. I've been in love with the Master II since I was a kid so it is awesome to finally have one, and for the timing to coincide with the new revision is perfect. All the little things I would have changed on 16710 has been addressed on the 116710. I couldn't be happier with it.
I wear a Hamilton from the early 50's. Gold, square face, second hand in a little circle at 6:00pm, self wind. Belonged to my dad. Had it cleaned several years ago. Keeps perfect time. I get compliments on it regularly.
I had my eye on the watch for almost 10 years, but because I am watch frugal, but eventually I felt I had to have it, I did not think I would ever want another watch, so I figured it was worth the splurge - I feel good everytime I put it on.
yes, the Zenith Chronomaster is nice and low key, not as "over the top" as their other models, eg Defy Extreme. I think you need to look like Arnold Schwarznegger to wear that one!
Another Zenith Chronomaster owner, in fact I am wearing it right now. Mine has black dial & bracelet, very low profile and super accurate. This is now my favorite watch among my collection which consists of Chronoswiss Lunar, JLC Reverso, and GP Power Reserve.
I picked up a fun watch as an impulse the other day, a Tissot Trekker with an orange face. Its pretty cool and gets most guys who are into gadgets oooohhhing when they play with it. It has 6 functions including barometric pressure, thermometer, altitude, chronograph and a really cool compass.
Breitling B-1. I flew the B-1 for many years, so when it was time for a real watch the Breitling stood out.
My watch has flown aroung the world, including over Afghanistan. It's been supersonic many times. I've worn it everyday for 10 years and it's like new.
One of my sons will wear it one day (not too soon, they are 7 and 4). Maybe one day I will inherit my dad's Blancpain!
Rolex Datejust SS, circa 1982. Fairly generic and unobtrusive, and I could sell it for more than I bought it, which is really the measure for how much I like anything. I love the Omega's but I'm just too lazy and cheap to buy one.
I wear the 22 carrot gold Omega whatch I bought with my first pay packet when I was 17. I am now 62 and I have worn it every day since, even got it pretty wet a few times. It is not waterproof. Apart from having it cleaned and dried a few times, it still works perfectly and you have to wind it up, which I like. It is still accurate enough for me, gains about half a minute a day. Three cheers for Swiss engineering
Aball, that is a beauty of a timepiece that you have there! I have admired that model many times. Mine is the Seamaster Professional Diver 2531.80 model.
No wristwatch currently -- use mobile (iPhone), but when last I did sport a wristwatch, it was a backlit multifunction Casio (I was travelling and it was great for exchange rates, time zones, phone numbers, etc.).
I too have an Omega Seamaster, but it's an Aqua Terra with the new co-axial movement. Keeps perfect time and looks beautiful. I also have a Tissot PR100 from the days when they made really nice watches and a Lip Mytic, a funky French watch.
A cheap Indiglo writst watch that cost about $35, and every 3rd year or so the battery gets used up and I pay a repair shop to get the right kind of battery and insert it properly, at anexense ofr about $22 each time but it is worth it: The first time I was replacing the battery myself and failed to keep track of the parts inside it and went without a working alarm clock for a week before I got it fixed - I was late for work every single day that week so I had to.
What can I do? - the clock dates to 1992 and I wake up to its ring even if it is weaker sounding than any other clocks I tried to wake up to.
I really do not wear a watch at this time although there are times that I do. Most watches I have worn have been gifts. I tend to just use my cell phone or clocks in my house as a way to keep tract of time.
