What is your speaker ownership history since 1995?

Used audio market is not the same again since on-line marketplace was born in 1995 (Fleabay).   What is your speaker *ownership* history since then?   

(showroom / friend's house / loaner don't count .. must be owner of them)

There are folks who are into the gear.  Some are into the music.  Some are into both. A thread like this shows all of us and how we approach things.  I'm into both. I audition the heck out of gear continuously.  IF I find something that is a game changing upgrade, then I'll bite.  I know folks who are into the gear and yes, they change constantly.  No need to judge as we all need to satisfy our fix.  

Since 95...:
Proac Supertowers heavily modified with internal MIT cabling and updated drivers from the newer Proac line.  The crossovers were also upgraded with the highest end audio parts and also modified for the newer drivers (the old ones all rotted out as Proac speaker used to with the foam surrounds).

Paradigm Atoms I think they are in my bedroom for the TV.  My daughter now has them.

Vandersteen Treo's for a year or so as I waited to save my money for my new Quatro's.

Oh, I also have a small Linn system in the bedroom now so Linn speakers, lol...not my cup of tea, but the price was right and it's easy to use and looks great, lol.

So happy that you love them Bob. I did too as you know.  As great as they are, the Quatro's are just amazing.  I've heard so many of the speakers that have been mentioned in this thread.  You can tell the type of ear folks have by what they are listening to over time.

You should look into the Vandersteen's Don.  They give you the advantage of a dynamic speaker, but also the sound of a point source, which is what you are used to with Maggies.  A friend of mine has both and LOVES them both.  He's a jazz drummer and knows his music.  Even teaches at Julliard.  

They are different speakers, but the VAndersteens are a much easier match for electronics.  It's about which ones depending on your budget.  Since you are looking at the 20.7's, you can swing the Quatro Carbon Fiber Tweeters I assume (similar cost).  I just got mine from Audio Connection and they are killer.  Johnny knows how to set up a system and he also sells the Maggies, so he can go over the similarities as well as the differences.  They are in NJ, not sure where you are located.  It's just another option.  I know many of us who enjoy Maggies when set up properly, but want a dynamic, so the Vandersteen's were a natural.
