??? What Is Your Favorite Speaker Finish ???

Just polished up my Rosewood finished Tablette Anniversaries, using some Murphy Wood Cleaner, lamenting my stupidity for selling the Ebony finished versions I had 3 years ago & started thinking about all the speakers I've owned over 55 odd years in this hobby...
Hands down I'm a real wood veneer lover..Give me a stunning Ebony veneer finish with Rosewood my second fav...I will admit though, there was something about those Gloss Orange Heco Aurora's I had that could bring a smile to my face...
 How about you?

Birds Eye maple is my favorite wood, lucky to get it in my Volti Riva

Daedalus Poseidon - woodwork like fine furniture

Bird's Eye Maple is quite nice.  I had a linestage whose wooden case was made of solid bird's eye maple (not a veneer).  It was quite pretty.

While I love a furniture grade wood finish, decor changes over the years have caused the wood finish color and type to clash with remodels and color changes. This happened to a beautiful set of speakers I still own and love but they have been moved out of our main listening room.

Gloss Black will always match any decor my wife chooses so is my favorite long term finish.

For the Basement Theater, matt black to minimize reflections in a dark room.

Here’s a new one not mentioned.

l bought a pair of Mission 770’s with beaten up enclosures that had been re veneered by a professional cabinet maker. WHITE ASH……

I still have them today and nearly 40 years on rotate them in my main system according to how l feel. They look gorgeous and for some reason the finish make the speakers look less bulky on stands.

The 770’s have been relaunched by Mission in the UK and sell for close to £3000. I bought these originals for £150 second hand in 1988. Due to their excellent bass handling l turn off my Rel T9i’s.
