What is the best HEAVY METAL speaker?

All speakers can play anything equally well is complete BS. Play some Slayer on some Vegas then play it on some Harbeths. What sounds better? Some female vocal stuff vice versa. No comparison. Ohh how bought play some sepultura on some high end Sonus Fabers ! Lol

Golden Ear Triton 1 is IMO an excellent metal speaker. Great mid and lower bass. Not fatiguing at all and fast enough to keep up. Robust sounding. Even though fairly efficient you will want an amp with some balls for metal. I played a lot of Opeth, Megadeth, Soilent Green, etc. and even more poorly recorded metal like Pig Destroyer sounded pretty damn good. Unfortunately I need to move in a much smaller room that is not suited to them 9x13 so I sold them. I bought some Merlin TSM Mmm and they are awesome metal speakers as well in the right room from 50 hz up. I have owned some others that while ok with rock did not do metal well. Those being KEF 201/2, Dynaudio Focus 140, paradigm s4 and s2, Usher BE718, and some others I can't remember.

Just picked up some really nice cerwin vega dx9s. I have to say for rock/metal they are REALLY good. Better than the Klipsch Chorus 2 for sure. Had to eq the hell out of the klipsch otherwise that horn mid would rip your head off. Got that sock you in the gut bass. Fun! 

2 way little Dynaudio is not gonna give you the slam required IMO. I do think they are probably great. Cant do bass midbass and low bass at respectable volumes for metal with a single 6 inch driver. 

I’ll say it again. CERWIN VEGA(vintage) was voiced to rock!
