What is the appeal of the Denon 103 cartridges?

I know they have been around years. However, I see many music -gear reviewers with super expensive turntables running the Denon 103/103r. I'm thinking of trying one myself, possibly one of the ZU adaptations.

I also have to add my 2 cents. I have a new 103r w/all. body , w/ 65 hrs. on it. Also a modded VAS on Rosewood body, w/60 hrs. on that.  Both are installed on an EMT 929 arm on a 948 deck. Now I have an EMT TSD MRB cart w/120 hrs. on that. The detail of every instrument from this cart is hard to beat!. The 103R will give you that Denon house sound, which isn't bad in my system, just a lil laid back from the TSD. Now the VAS 103R Rosewood body, I can put it up against my Cadenza Black on an SME 309 arm installed on an Technics GAE, which is 4x the price. I'm limited to certain carts on the EMT arm, but I'm a HAPPY FELLOW in the Denon family!
