What do you think about the AES SE-1?

Long story short, I am looking for a SET tube amp preferably under $1000. The choice is very limited, and there is a local SE-1 for $800. I tried to did some research here and other forums, I can only find limited comments on it. One of the comment is that it is a compromised amp because it is trying to make it work with both 300B and 2A3 tube, which ends up never optimized for both.

So, my question is ... will you recommend to get it for $800? Or there are better choices out there that I should wait for opportunity to come up? For instance, there is a pair of Wright sound WPA 3.5 sold under $1000. How are they compared?
