What are your thoughts on Raidho?

One of my honorable mention rooms at AXPONA this year was the Raidho TD2.2's fronted by a Margules amp. I was really taken by these speakers, beautiful, deep soundstage, though the tracks were probably carefully selected for this effect. Nonetheless, I think the brand might work for my tastes.

Here is what I already know:

- People think they are overpriced. Sure, probably.

- They lose value quickly when bought new. I would be buying used.

- They have a more relaxed sound, likely related to a dip in the mid-crossover, but this seems to appeal to me.

- I should buy Borresons instead. No, I have heard these multiple times, way too uptight.

- They can work in smallish rooms, mine is 12.5x11, speakers on the short wall. See my profile for pics and details.

- Anecdotal, but they seem to work well for low volume listening, which is my thing these days.

- It is not convenient to demo these speakers at a dealer, and I want to buy used anyway.

The models of interest are the X2, D2.x and TD2.x. I have KEF Reference One 3-way stand mounts now.

With all of my known objections out of the way, I am interested in your experience with this brand.

Following up on this thread and my experience with the Raidho D 2.1 speakers. I have been conducting a bit of a speaker shootout between my original KEF Reference 1's, the Raidho D 2.1's and a pair of QLN 3's that popped up regionally and have been top of my list to try.

I really liked the Raidho's, being a hair laid back in comparison to the KEF's with their signature beautiful soundstage, they are an excellent speaker. My room is on the smaller side, but with three rear ports, they are very tunable for the space and I had no problem making them fit into my space.

However, in the end, they were edged out by the QLN's. These matched the best with my gear, room and listening habits. You can read more about my QLN experience with a fresh piggyback post on this thread.

It was a close race between the three pairs of speakers and I could recommend any one of them, but a decision had to be made. Now contemplating QLN 5's, it never ends. Gotta sell some gear first though.

@kofibaffour I have heard that comment from others. I did not get enough time with them, or enough musical variety, to see if I hear it as well.

@dweller Kinda out of my league too, but with some patience I might find the right deal.

Thank you for the additional comments, it is appreciated. Any other Raidho owners out there?

@fred60 Yours was a key comment. San Bernadino is in my top five for their best shows, and what a setlist!

Thanks for all the feedback, it has been helpful.

I just picked up a set of the D2.1's. I will let you know my thoughts once I have them in place for awhile.
