Vonschweikert VR4 GENIII?

Any though about this speaker pair? I can't listen for myself cuz there's no dealer around here carrying them. One thing I know is that it's received great review. What y'all think about this $4k speaker pair? Are they better than those in the same price range like B&W, Sonus Faber, Maggie, Aerial Acoustic, Thiel, Revel, etc... Many thanks.

I would like to start with my 2 cents if I may...

I own the Gen II's and think they are very very good; However if one would call the Factory as I have,
you might find that they claim the improvement
to be somewhere around 100% better than the Orig.
Gen II's. If that be the case then they are worth
every bit the value. The rep. I spoke with stated
that the Gen II upgraded @ $2500.00 additional $$$'s constitute a value equal to $12000.00 if it were sold by
Von himself ( a 300% inprovement over the Gen II's
sound). Well the Gen III is 85% of the sound of the Gen II's upgraded to the V (Five) Series. I have listened to these same driver in another transducer and found they DO sound much cleaner, clearer and transparent with a much lower noise floor.
So what does all this mean to you... One H_ _ _ of a deal in terms of value (return on the $$$). I for one am looking forward to the upgrade ( I have to wait my turn, for it is done by appointment only!). Do consider getting them used as they will be an even grater value even if reduced by 25% of the retail value. Remember if the used transducer is registered by the orig. owner the warrenty will carry over to you, if not you are SOL!
I was impressed enough with this speaker to order a set and this is the first major retail purchase I have made in 10 years. I just can't bring myself to pay retail for what I believe to be overpriced gear & have bought used/demo for a long time. I made an exception when I auditioned these speakers. The price went up to $4800.00 Nov.1 & I beat the price increase by 2 days. There must have been quite a rush at the last minute because I'm still waiting. Definitely looking forwrd to getting them hooked into the system.I was impressed enough with this speaker to order a set and this is the first major retail purchase I have made in 10 years. Go for it.The difference is obvious, and the gain is overall quality of transparency is tremendous. For 2500.00 it is a steal.
Get a pair of used VR4's for about 12 or 13 hundred dollars
and have the $2,500. mods done to them and have 90% of the 5's with warranty for $3,700.
I agree with the before-the-price-increase theory. I ordered mine 10/26 and am waiting...Interestingly, the VS website does not list any price increase...it would have been nice to feel like I saved $800.
