Von Schweikert VR4Jr how is it w/o biwire?

Hello: A few questions for owners of the VR4 Jr or VR4 Gen III SE. I'm looking for more more powerful low end and improved sonics than my Def Tech BP 7002s. Has anyone used the optional data link connector instead of biwiring? I've never biwired before. Is the performance of the Vons diminished by using the data link? Thank you.

The vr4jr doesn't sounds good when using data link is because the signal has to travel a longer way to reach the tweeter module, bass and treble are not functioning at the same speed.
"the signal has to travel a longer way to reach the tweeter module"

When not bi-wiring the VR4JR, don't connect your cables to the bass cabinet. You should connect the speaker cables to the monitor posts and pass signal to the bass drivers using the datalink and jumpers across the lower posts. This might be why some people see poor results when not bi wiring.

I've had it all four ways and bi amping really is the best thing with these speakers. It adds an astounding depth and authority that I never heard when single amped and single wired.
If you are using a single bi-wire connection, I can teach you another way of hooking up your speakers. these configuration only requires an additional pair of short jumper wires. basically to match the types of bass you desire.
Its a bit difficult to explain here, if you are interestd to know you can forward me your email address and a picture will send to you with the soonest possible.
Double biwire with two pairs - one to the M/T, one to the lower posts of the sub unit. Anything else is inferior.
I got two sets of Bob Crump's (TG audio)speaker cables going and it improved the sound dramatically... Tried Tara labs, Cardas GC and Wireworld to name a few. The TG out performed them pretty easily in my system. Resolution goes up very noticeably when bi-wired. IMO VS should sell these speakers without that Datalink to ensure these get bi-wired. It really does improve them significantly.
