I think if you run the speakers along the long wall the bass won't overload the room. The tweeter in the Strauss is not clinical. very musical speakers and I really enjoyed my time with them, They have the same drivers as the Mahler in a smaller cabinet with a single woofer. The Mahler got a 1.5 update which replaced the tweeter and tweaked the xover I don't think the Strauss ever got that update.
