Vandersteen VLR CT

I am not remotely close to any Vandersteen Dealers. I have a nice pair of Vandersteen 2CE Sigs. Going to start to save some cash for speakers. So was wondering if  VLR CT would be an up grade? Or best to find a pair of used Treo CT down the road? Thoughts?

a set of Vandy 5a while not having the carbon tweeter are formidable speaker...maybe they would oart with those for reasonable $$$$$ just a thought....I went from 3a Sig to 5a, there is NO comparison...

enjoy your journey and search, that IMo is part of the fun.

I replied to your PM but for sake of community, will repeat some here and engage others as the forum value is in depth and diversity of experience...
First the VLR above 50 HZ is a fantastic speaker and can generate a fantastic 3 D image placed very close to rear wall, as can Treo, but to compete w larger
Vandersteen, requires a sub. Obviously the new sub3 with 11 bands of analog EQ would be stellar and take load off both the VLR and your Ma-1 amps. Good as they are, Vandersteen powered hi pass filter bass is a wicked unfair advantage to midrange definition and nuance. The Carbon tweeter is sweet and addictive. You will need a good to great set of stands for the VLR, which is an expense you avoid w TREO. Soundanchors are fantastic. You can get by w less.
a sub3 with your 2ce will also take load off and improve midbass and midrange but ultimately you have to decide how much you desire/ CT
A used set of Quattro in non CT or CT are another alternative
have fun enjoy the music!!!!!!
