I’m trying to get a couple of records clean that are irreplaceable. I’m using an ultrasonic cleaner, doing 3 at a a time. First 15 mins I did distilled water with a bit of rubbing alcohol.
I wouldn’t recommend using rubbing alcohol on LPs.
... I drained that solution and ran it for another 15 mins with distilled water and a drop or two of jet dry ...
Likewise, I don’t think Jet Dry is appropriate for cleaning LPs.
Is there any combination of techniques you guys could recommend?
I know many people employ nearly heroic methods to clean their records with all kinds of fancy solutions and protocols. But the contamination on my LPs is usually just dust. I’ve found that easy to remove with nothing but a Klaudio ultrasonic machine and plain distilled water.
