There are at present living in the USA about a thousand billionaires. The High End business caters to that social class.

The old marketing conundrum: is it easier to sell one item for a million dollars or a million items for one dollar each?

@lewm : the AR TT was introduced in 1964 at a price of $78. I bought a nicely modded version from Vinyl Nirvana for $750. Taking into account the depreciation of the US dollar that is a reasonable price.

On a '"cost-per-gram" comparison nothing beats the $16K Grado Epoch cartridge!
