Tubes for VTL 6.5Series II Preamp

My VTL preamp has about 400 hours of play on the tubes.  So I’ve given it lots of time to break in.  It is unbelievable how it performs, opens the soundstage, adds clarity and blends perfectly between my Brinkmann Nyquist DAC and Decware 6watt amp.  Anybody have any suggestions on tube rolling?  It uses 2 12au7s.  Thanks,

With the VTL 7.5  the chrome plated Mazda (or Philips) E82CC that are made in France sounds insanely good. Only issue is they're pretty rare and expensive.

where do you live? near 07062, I've got many old used ones you could try for fun and to learn something before you spend real money.

I’m a long way from NJ!  In Fullerton California.  But your offer is very kind and reinforces why I like this forum.  Best regards, Larry

I recently replaced RCA cleartops with a pair of NOS Telefunken 12AU7 (ECC82) tubes in my Cary gear. The difference was very substantial with much clearer extension on both ends and wider soundstage. I have tried a few other tubes before the RCA, but the RCA was better than most of them till the Telefunken.

I like the sound of the Cary gear so I can imagine what a good upgrade those Tele tubes made.  TY
