Did I Expect too much?
@rodge827  You are absolutely correct.  The AER BD3 do have built in binding posts and I probably should have done as you suggested!  Next time…
Did I Expect too much?
@larryi   I agree with your comments 100%. Charney makes a really nice cabinet with close attention to woodworking and veneering.   Brian is unbelievably good at keeping his customers up to date.  I heard more from him than I do the kids expecting...
Did I Expect too much?
Just wanted to say thank you for all the comments-you saved me a trip to the therapist.  I’ve calmed down and moved on.
Did I Expect too much?
@dseltz  Are the AER BD 5s really 36,000 Euros?  I don’t see me parting with that kind of long coin.
Did I Expect too much?
SNS:  You hit it right on the head.  It’s the reason I had Min Yang at Tube Audio Labs make my 300b.  We collaborated on the best transformers, capacitors etc and  it was nor more expensive since there were no middlemen or retailers to mark up the...
Did I Expect too much?
The Charney speakers have maybe 150 hours on them.  The AER BD3 drivers are not broken in as yet.  So best to hold off on any reviews until about 500 hours.  My initial impression of the AER drivers are that they are well balanced single source dr...
Potential relief for tinnitus?
There is only one drug approved across Europe but not approved in the US that helps.  It is Beta Histine.  Tell your ENT and they can order it through a compounding pharmacy.  It isn’t cheap but it works.  It serves to dialate the blood vessels in...
Best $10-15K bookshelf speaker?
I guess it depends on your amp as to what would work best.  if you are considering a higher efficiency bookshelf, try the Triangle. I think it runs about $9k.
From Audio Note AN/J-D to where?
I am a 300b tube guy and chose the AER-BD3 drivers made in Germany.  Highly efficient with the ability to reach very high.  The cabinet makes a big difference and both AER and Charney make creative cabinetry to match. I also use REL subs with this...
WHICH POWER CONDITIONER IS BETTER PASSIVE OR ACTIVE WITH ISOLATION TRANSFORMERS
Doesn’t any device that galvanically isolates the current prevent all noise?  That’s why so may manufacturers use galvanic isolation in their circuits to clean data feeds.  Seems to me that between galvanic isolation and the use of a filter and ca...
I feel for you
I’m sort of like Benjamin Button and getting life backwards.  Yes, I’m well into my late 70’s.  I didn’t major in math or electronics.  So what better to do than to refute old age?  I completed the online MIT electronics course just so I could be ...
Getting a Divorce and can now buy floor standing speakers
Sometimes you don’t appreciate what you have.  My wife, a divorce attorney, told m to get new speakers (Charney with AER-BD3).  I guess I’m keeping her until the end.
Your journey with lower-watt tube amps -- Can a kit be good enough?
I’d recommend a custom built tube amp from Tube Audio Labs in Iowa.  I have a 300b from them and it fits your budget.
Starting my showroom again
I’m a little late on commenting but bring something different to the table:  like a listening bar-folks can stop in for drinks, bar food and get hooked on HiFi.
??? What Is The MOST Expensive System You Ever Heard ??? What Was Your Opinion ???
When I visit HiFi stores in the LA basin, I ask the consultants not to tell me the price of any of their rooms.  I sit and listen and then try to figure out what I like and what is unacceptable.  To my ears, tube amplifiers still sound the best, e...
