Tube Amps with Vandersteen 2Ci's ???

Anyone have any experience powering 2Ci's with a tube amp? I'd like to move up from my Adcom 555 to something in the tube department, perhaps monoblocks. Already have tube preamp (Audible Illusions Mod 1), and have been eyeballing a few class A tubers. 2Ci's not your typical rock and roll speaker, will I lose all the low end punch and crispiness? Any recommendations?

I've got a set of 2Ce's and I'm using a Sonic Frontier Power 2, and sometimes a Cary CAD 2A3 for low listening levels believe ot or not. The Power 2 has way more bottom end than my previous Hafler 9270, and just a tad more than the Cary, but the midrange and speed of the Cary's is unreal. When I bought the Hafler over the Adcom a few years back, it was because the Hafler had better bottom end than the Adcom, so this should give you and idea of where I'm at. Pink Floyd's "Welcome to the Machine" has a whole new sound. My current preamps using Quicksilver full function or Adcom GFP565, the Quicsilver has a little more detail than the Adcom but the Adcom is good unit especially for the price and works well with both Amps. joegio@hotmail.com
