input impedance
I need to know for to choose the correct value for the Vandersteen crossover for A Sonic Frontiers power 2, their website states 200K but I measured 100K, as for my Cary's the stated value matched my measured value. Once again I'm confused.
Tubes? OH YES!!! But where? Hmmm....
I'm running Vandy 2CE's with a SF Power II and QuickSilver preamp. Neutal mid and highs, but a bottom end that is just awsome. I also run a Cary 2A3 SE sometimes, with an improvement the upper end but do loose some down stairs. The SF will keep yo...
Need help with high pass filter
Well I'm not sure about the resistor unless its to create a filter of a higher order. Anyway I took one of the Vandersteen filters apart and found two caps in parallel which sum the capacitance, but no resistor. If the resistor is in series than I...
Need help with high pass filter
Well here is my guess since impedance for a cap is 1/wc where w =2*PI*f where f is the frequency in Hz. looks like 33,000= 1/(2*PI*130*c) or c= 1/(2*PI*130*33,000) * 1,000,000 in uF = .0362uF How did I do guys (gals) ?
My wife is so uncool!
Well it took me while to figure out but I realized that my girlfriend was using reverse psychology on me. When I would come across a neat component on Audiogon she would say lets buy it, thats a quality piece for a good price, now I (we) have 3 sy...
It's not the sound I want!
It think that alot of variables are present and an often overlooked one would be the actual listening room itself. You have great components now you have to tune your room.
Tube Amps with Vandersteen 2Ci's ???
I've got a set of 2Ce's and I'm using a Sonic Frontier Power 2, and sometimes a Cary CAD 2A3 for low listening levels believe ot or not. The Power 2 has way more bottom end than my previous Hafler 9270, and just a tad more than the Cary, but the m...
