Tube amp/ pre amp.

Hello all,

I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying some good music sessions during these crazy covid time.

So I am still very new to this audiophile hobby and I must say I am enjoying listening and learning as much as I can. I am planning on building a small 2.1 system in my bonus room and will be using a pair of Martin Logan LX-16s and a Martin Logan Dynamo 700w. I would like to try putting together a tube system using either a preamp/amp or an integrated system and would love some ideas. I will mostly be streaming Tidal through my Audioengine b1 at the moment but will most likely expand/upgrade the system down the road. My musical taste ranges from Tool to Frank Sinatra and I would like to keep my options under $1k if at all possible.  If y'all wouldn't mind would you please explain some of the reasons y'all would choose what you did. I value everyone's opinion and look forward to hearing everyone's options.

Thank y'all so much

You're most welcome, and thank you for the kind words. A bit more for you. TMR allows 14 day trial for used gear and is worth considering. I went to the "integrated amp" section, organized results by price ascending, and then searched for gear with tubes. You might bookmark and check regularly. TMR is good to deal with, they take returns, and are reliable and trustworthy as a company. Takes a bit of risk out of buying used.

So, here: https://tmraudio.com/components/integrated-amplifiers/?sort=priceasc

I saw a couple things worth considering under $1k.

All tube (but I don't know the company): https://tmraudio.com/components/integrated-amplifiers/audio-space-galaxy-34-stereo-tube-integrated-a...

Thank you so much Hilde45. BTW you have a very nice system. I'm sure it sounds amazing!
Your speaker is easy enough to drive that you have a some options under $1k, especially if you go used, which you should seriously consider. A lot depends on the qualities you're looking for in the sound and also the size and character of your room. I've not done much with tubes under 1k, so I'm tempted to just throw out some ideas which might be reasonable leads. Others will chime in with more solid experience.
