Trans-Siberian Orchestra was originally an off-shoot project of the band Savatage(who are based out of Florida). The band started out in early 80's and their "Sirens" album is considered to be one of the best "metal albums" ever made. Most commercially successful album was "Gutter Ballet" in the late 80's. Jon and Chris Oliva were the driving force behind the band until Chris was killed in an automobile accident in 93. TSO was formed by several members of the band in 1995. There is no product on vinyl. You can check out the sites for Chris Cafferty, and Jon Oliva for more information...

The reason I brought this up is I have been thinking about lighting a fire under someone to get this put out on vinyl, or seeing what I can do myself if no one else is interested, but I'm wondering if there's a market for say a nice double LP boxset with great artwork, maybe a lyric book and 180 gram vinyl... Any thoughts... O o . |
There was an interesting article in the Washington Post on these guys 2 weeks ago. It's turned into a Rock franchise with 2 bands touring during the Christmas season. I doubt they have or intend to put out any vinyl. I do like their take on many of my Christmas favorites, but really only listen to them during December. I once went looking for anything they've done that wasn't Christmas theme, but it didn't exist. |
