I owned this DAC for awhile. It will decode just about anything including MQA, FLAC (PCM), DSD - so whatever is sent, it will decode (subject to some specific limitations by input type). For instance, it does just about everything anyone could ever send over USB. Over coax, PCM is limited to 192/24 and there is no native DSD. But it will handle anything available on Tidal whether MQA or not.
Topping D90SE compatibility question
I am about to purchase a different DAC for my system. Most of my listening is streaming from Tidal and lossless files. According to Tidal, they have dropped and is replacing the MQA to FLAC. On the contrast, the Topping D90SE encodes MQA to all inputs except coax. Would there be a compatibility issue with the D90SE and Tidal?

@itball Thanks for the information. I currently use a Focusrite 2i2 as a DAC and for measurements. I also have a Modi 2 Uber which I use mainly for headphone listening. I just wanting to know if there is a significant difference between the 2i2 and D90SE? |
