Thoughts/Opinions on Technics SL-G700M2 CD/SACD Player
Looking for any current owners that have bought this CD/SACD Player that can comment on its sound quality, reliability, ease of use, etc. for playing cd's, sacd's, hybrid sacd's, not looking for any input on its streaming capability currently, just playing 2 channel stereo.

I am a month late in answering your question @audibleguy but I do own the Technics SL-G700M2. The build quality is very high, the unit itself have substantial weight. Although I buy this mainly for streamer, however, I tested their SACD/CD function. The SACD/CD drawer open smoothly and they do sound amazing paired with my McIntosh MA12000 (through MA12000 on-board DA-2 DAC) using Optical Connection. I also played SACD using Analog Balanced XLR output connection to my MA12000, meaning I use the DAC inside the Tehcnics. The most noticeable difference is that volume output using Analog Balanced XLR is a bit lower compare to the Optical Connection. The McIntosh MA12000 DA-2 DAC still have better detail, imaging and air, but the difference is minimal. Most likely because the MA12000 use a higher model ESS DAC chip compared to the ESS DAC chip inside the Technics. Also, I do feel their response to start playing each song's track is a bit slow. If you want to change track, it took them a bit longer then I am used to with other CD Player. This Technics also can be used as Pre-Amp to directly drive a Power Amp. Value for money, this is I believe the highest value if you are looking for SACD player that can be a streamer, and they would make an amazing SACD transport. I just love the looks of it. I think no SACD with streamer capability in the market have such a good looks as this Technics. As a streamer alone, I still think it looks better than even the Luxman NT-07 (Cosmetic wise).
