Kyle Rittenhouse was running away after murdering someone. He was being chased by those who saw it. No one was armed (another fiction). He then shot and killed one more and badly maimed another while trying to be subdued.
No one goes to another state to protect the local Piggly Wiggly store, or whatever it is he claims to have done. He's just another white, domestic terrorist which law enforcement says is the number one threat to this country. It's white militia types who go out and murder cops, not antifa. Public records are very easy to look up.
Not long before Kyle murdered someone, he repeatedly sucker punched a girl, from behind, and got his ass kicked for it. You can see that online. While you're there, check out another video of some fat ass militia type who Kyle waked around with (since he had to borrow someone's AR since he can't legally own one). On that video, the fat ass says that the police herd the protestors down to them and then leave, leaving them to deal with them.
What Kyle did was straight out murder and that's what he's charged with. Anyone who idolizes him is of questionable character and not to be trusted.

what possible intellectual discourse could there be relative to Qanon ? other than the clinical diagnosis of insanity ?
Exactly. It all started out as a goof, to see how gullible and ignorant some can be. https://news.artnet.com/opinion/q-anon-hoax-1329983 It took on a life of it's own and now we have right wing members of congress who are avowed Qanon believers, posing with firearms and already threatening other members of congress (most likely a stunt on their behalf to capitalize on the growing number of ditto heads as a base). Funny, agree or I disparage you was not what I said, meant, or implied. When a minority subset of a country is systematically oppressed and killed at a rate 3Xs higher than that of the rest of the country, there is no middle or neutral ground to reside on. Nor, are there various truths, unless one is rationalizing.
And, the only Germans that I know of who are happy to know the torch has been passed are the extreme right wing factions who wish to go back to the "good Germans" times and start anew.

Poor, poor, audition_audio, still trying to claw back some face. Still licking your wounds? I responded in kind....nothing more. You're out of your element on this topic.

Just got a notice that a post from 5 days ago was removed and not for any reasons outlined by Audiogon. We have some thin skinned, small minded individuals here.

I think mc is getting crazier (if that’s possible) the more the polls show his idol and enablers will soon be pleading to charges after the election.
He’s not going to stop.

I've read where some good Germans had the way of looking at things. |
Yes, we call it controlled burning. In California, they halted the practice back in March due to air pollution and to control the coronavirus spread among fire fighters. That, and the areas are so dry from climate change that it presented a bigger problem in controlling the burn.
Also, the feds own 58% of California's 33 million acres of forests while the state owns only 3%. The rest is a mix of joint management and privately owned land. With the cutbacks in federal land management, the majority of the fires are on federal land.
In Oregon, 25% of the forests are federally owned and in Washington it's 44%. Blaming it on the states is just a sick sort of game.

Watch out for the exploding trees when you're out there raking the forest. |

Here's some incredibly sad photos of vehicles that burned in Oregon. One guy's engine melted out of his truck and drained down the driveway: https://www.autoblog.com/2020/09/12/oregon-wildfires-melted-truck-cars/#slide-2263488 This is some very intense heat. Add that to hazardous (not the lower rated unhealthy) air and the survivors will have some lasting physiological problems. I hope the feds are on top of this as there are 14 states with fires raging right now covering over 649,054 acres with no end in sight. And no, I have no uncle who's a pulmonologist. Just one who was a police captain, one a fire battalion chief and the other was a DA for environmental crimes. All the best, Nonoise |
One of the most underrated harms you face is the breathing of those toxic ashes. The buildup in your lungs can reach toxic levels in short order, depending on exposure levels. Don't take anything for granted and have you and your family evaluated asap.

Ah, just been notified that my post on the murderer, Kyle Rittenhouse was taken down. I shouldn't have called that militia guy a fat *ss, I guess.
|
The fires move much faster than you can so please get to a safer place. Nothing can replace your life and the lives of your loved ones. I have an uncle who was a firefighter and he said to see the flames traveling faster overhead than you can run or drive was frightening. Once that happens, you're severely limited in the directions you can go.

Understanding someone requires being open minded. I'd like to leave it at that but here, on this thread, we have an openly racist member and one who's advocating following in the footsteps of a double murderer and yet you have issues with me. I find that astonishing.

grannyring, I've went and done the same to you, which is the first time I've reported anyone. If you are ashamed of something, don't blame me.
All the best, Nonoise |
anotherbob, you seem to live in a binary world. Only two sides, no nuance. You betray your limited world view by seeing anyone who disagrees with you as "liberal". You fail to see, let alone acknowledge, the steeped history of oppression and it's results, but complain about them as if they were the origins of the problem.
As for the bomb proof hood, it was a locking mechanism that made it impossible for anyone to install a bomb to the motor from above, with the hood open. I'd ask, how can you be so dense but I already know.
I had no idea how many knuckle dragging, kool-aid drinking, brainwashed, conspiracy theorists were here and I must admit, it's a bit unsettling. Now I'm certain that there are Qanon whackos here on A'gon, who truly believe the world is run by an elite cabal of cannibalistic pedophiles who drink the blood of children from the underground sex ring they run and that Trump knows of this and is presently fighting them.
That makes about as much sense as people and rural PDs issuing warnings of antifa going around starting fires and looting, resulting in armed idiots in fire zones setting up check points and accosting people.

You've been at this way too long, anotherbob, and it's poisoned your mind. 25 years of policing a status quo created 250 years ago takes it toll on a person, hardening them. When you start out with your "there's one race...." that about summed it all up. Your truths are the rationalizations of a race that fears losing it's dominance on society. You think to share and be accountable threatens your standing, when nothing is farther from the truth. No one should need to kneel on someone's neck to feel superior.
I was wondering when the closet door would come off it's hinges. Feels good to be out in the light for all to see, doesn't it?
All the best and all I'll say on this for awhile, Nonoise |
And I thought MC was sick. Being a cop gives you no better ground to stand on than any other person. My uncle was a captain for Rampart, 66th St., Shootin' Newton, and a few others as well as being one of the lead investigators in the Charles Manson and Sirhan Sirhan cases and he worked Internal Affairs, busting cops that sound like you.
One day while in my parents driveway, he showed me the bullet proof windows and bomb proof hood of his car. When I asked him if that was for the bad guys, he said, no, it was for the cops who wanted to kill him.
It's cops like you that help perpetuate the hate and dissent in this world so leave off with your special insight for it impresses no one.

Still fighting the lost cause? |
To think that 10% of the population of Oregon is being told to prepare to evacuate is beyond comprehension. That’s around 500,000 people.
We need to seriously rethink some things.

My, my, how the apologists come out of the woodwork, again with the false equivalency. I've posted before how right wing dreck has polluted these threads for far too long and it was when I, and others, started to offer a counterpoint to it all, that's when the jumping on the tables and raising of skirts started.
Go back in the archives and read it for yourselves if you fell otherwise. One small faction has had a nice, long ride as long as no one spoke up. Now that they do, they get a good case of the vapors.
All the best, Nonoise |
And yet you came to his defense. That explains the false equivalency you’re promoting.

Once again, mc yammer confirms to all that he is certifiable. This could be a cooking site and he'd pollute it with his insanity. It won't be long before he comes out of the closet as a dyed in the wool Q-anon nut job. Speaking of which, authorities are being deluged with phone calls and emails from Q-anon whackos about groups they don't like starting all the fires, tying up the lines. Pathetic.

audition_auido, Thanks for proving my point. |
I sincerely hope you are safe and stay that way. In short, take what you need, not what you want. Papers, documentations, anything that holds your past and present together, should you lose everything. You'd be surprised how a few, small mementos can tie you to family and friends as well.
I lived in the Old Town section of Lake Oswego back in 1989 for a year and always wished I could have stayed there. I've always had thoughts of maybe relocating somewhere, back up north, and put L.A. in my rearview mirror but I'm the kind who follows the news, science, and the like and knew what a tinderbox the NorthWest could become.
It's truly awful what's happening to our climate and the results it's having on our land and lives. I have a couple of cousins up in Santa Rosa who are in the same situation as you: packed up and ready to evacuate, and they've lived there for the better part of 40+ years.
I hope you manage to avoid the worse and that there are better days ahead for you.
