Thiel releases limited edition CS2.4SE speaker
Written by Tom Philp
LEXINGTON, Kentucky - Thiel Audio has introduced the CS2.4SE, a limited edition of its popular CS2.4 floor standing loudspeaker, making only 150 pairs of the high-end device available to consumers worldwide.

The Thiel CS2 floor speaker.
The Signature Edition employs a radical, money-is-no-object approach to crossover design that includes the use of high-grade boutique capacitors, a frequency response of 36Hz-25kHz, a sensitivity rating of 87dB and an impedance of 4 ohms.

Thiel says the limited edition is available only in a "hand-selected" bird's eye maple finish that uses a deep red stain called Vermilion Maple, featuring a deep, dimensional grain with an elegant hue top to bottom.

Other visual elements include a bevelled groove between the speaker's satin black baffle and cabinet walls; stainless steel hardware that secures the drivers to the baffle; and milled aluminum outriggers and polished stabilizer spikes.

Thiel's CS2.4SE speakers are available now at US$8,000 per pair.
