Theta Compli Question
What did Pioneer say when you contacted them and asked for the model name/number? https://www.remotes.com/pioneer-remote-controls-s/2069.htm |
Thanks for the link. I've been in contact with Theta Digital customer service (For several years now Theta has been owned by ATI), and they were unable to say for sure which Pioneer model was used. I wouldn't expect Pioneer to necessarily know, since their unit was just the "donor" player - they weren't the ones doing the modifications - but I'll try reaching out to them as well. The unit dates back to about 2003, and it may have been the Pioneer dv47a, but I thought I'd see if anyone here could confirm that. |
Yes - I found a used remote for the Pioneer dv47a on Amazon, so I took a chance and bought it. It works perfectly! I'm using the Theta strictly as an audio player, hooked up to an older integrated tube amp, and I needed the remote to change the settings. When I got the player, the analog outs were disabled and it would only produce sound through the digital outputs. Hooked it up earlier this week and it works great and sounds wonderful. |
@grindstaff - saw your DM - yes, I'm still using the Theta, but like you, only as a audio source. I just needed to hook the video up to a TV temporarily when setting it up to enable the RCA outputs to pair with my amp. I still enjoy it very much. |
@jafant Not that I know of. I believe the hours are pretty low, especially for its age, and it functions flawlessly. It sat dormant for several years before I bought it. Yes, it’s certainly a keeper and it sounds great! |
