The new Synergistic Research BLUE fuses ....
I’ve replaced all 5 of the SR BLACK fuses in my system with the new SR BLUE fuses. Cold, out of the box, the BLUE fuses stomped the fully broken-in SR BLACKS in a big way. As good as the SR BLACK fuses were/are, especially in comparison with the SR RED fuses, SR has found another break-through in fuses.
1. Musicality ... The system is totally seamless at this point. Its as if there is no system in the room, only a wall to wall, front to back and floor to ceiling music presentation with true to life tonality from the various instruments.
2. Extension ... I’ve seemed to gain about an octave in low bass response. This has the effect of putting more meat on the bones of the instruments. Highs are very extended, breathing new life into my magic percussion recordings. Vibes, chimes, bells, and triangles positioned in the rear of the orchestra all have improved. I’ve experienced no roll-off of the highs what so ever with the new BLUE fuses. Just a more relaxed natural presentation.
3. Dynamics ... This is a huge improvement over the BLACK fuses. Piano and vibes fans ... this is fantastic.
I have a Japanese audiophile CD of Flamenco music ... the foot stomps on the stage, the hand clapping and the castanets are present like never before. Want to hear natural sounding castanets? Get the BLUE fuses.
4. Mid range ... Ha! Put on your favorite Ben Webster album ... and a pair of adult diapers. Play Chris Connor singing "All About Ronnie," its to die for.
Quick .... someone here HAS to buy this double album. Its a bargain at this price. Audiophile sound, excellent performance by the one and only Chris Connor. Yes, its mono ... but so what? Its so good you won’t miss the stereo effects. If you’re the lucky person who scores this album, please post your results here.

Overall impressions:
Where the RED fuses took about 20 hours to sound their best, and the BLACK fuses took upwards of 200 hours of total break-in, the BLUE fuses sounded really good right out of the box ... and that’s without doing anything about proper directional positioning. Not that the BLUE fuses don’t need breaking in, they do. The improvement continues through week three. Its a gradual break-in thing where each listening session is better than the last.
Everything I described above continues to break new ground in my system as the fuses continue breaking in. Quite honestly, I find it difficult to tear myself away from the system in order to get things done. Its truly been transformed into a magical music machine. With the expenditure of $150.00 and a 30 day return policy there’s really nothing to lose. In my system, its like upgrading to a better pre amp, amp, CD player or phono stage. Highly recommended.
Kudos to Ted Denney and the entire staff at SR. Amazing stuff, guys. :-)
Frank
PS: If you try the SR BLUE fuses, please post your results here. Seems the naysayers, the Debbie Downers and Negative Nellie’s have hijacked the original RED fuse thread. A pox on their houses and their Pioneer receivers.

@tommylion After a bit of thought (not sarcasm) the fuse wire is designed to handle the maximum amperage load of the unit (amp, server etc). Therefore it would stand to reason that there is no need to enhance it. It has a job to do, over amperage/voltage to protect everything downstream from damage, not to enhance a signal. Am I wrong? Or is my rock kicking/ building/ traffic engineering experience along the wrong stream? |
I am not an electrical engineer (civil) but I do know the best electrical conductor is pure silver, then pure copper. What is in Graphene to make it change the effect of AC current power cable, fuses, speaker cable etc all of which have different cable and current properties? I need to have something I can understand. TC sounds like woman's cosmetics. you can put any of the brands on and skin moisture properties change, but does not stop wrinkles. Cosmetics are the worst of the fault "science" perpetrators. |
The fuse is between AC plug and transformer, not thereafter. That's where the power is transformed, lost and mixed. Goo on a cable, or a fuse won't after what is after the fuse. @geoffkait Graphene is no more a superconductor than the 2 metals I stated before. Plus it has modifying glue to form a liquid to paint, bond and dry, thus diluting the graphene mixture or whatever. Putting superconductive materials on the ends of crap wire will still expose what was there before, as is goes through crap wire (assuming this Graphene mixture is better than pure silver or pure copper, which needs to be from end of fuse to end of speaker driver, otherwise the signal is degraded. Correct me if I am wrong, but you cannot put more water through a pipe even if you increase the pressure and put silver taps on the end. The physics just doesn't add up. |
The passage of a signal, be it electrical (or traffic as in cars), will only be as good as the worst juncture, cable, component as traffic flow is as only as good as the worst intersection. I just cannot understand a change in "performance". Only a change in the travel condition, or as it HiFi, is the sound. It's only as good as the worst point. Adrian (amateur HiFi'ist) retired eng. |
@tommlion04-20-2018 11:28pm It's not about trying something to see if it works for you. One only needs to go to your favourite HiFi store to try gear out. Not always do we walk back out with something. The more a product is stuffed down your throat, the less persuasive is the argument for the product. I still do not have an eloquent answer for why fuses or graphene at the ends of contact points work in the way of the lord. Next we will have sponsors walking on water. I have heard to many spruikers, and have been ripped off by very few, to swallow the fuse and TC goo story. |
This will be my last post on fuses and Graphene/TC or what our supposed US compatriots call them. We go to war together and watch each others backs. I write a reasonable question on AudioGon and get stabbed in the back, insulted without apology by a nasty few (I we know who they are) for asking "where's the proof". At least I apologise if I am out of the respectable line. You few have no respect at all. Good luck to you. Strewth wud epm ear? Sumnubbady nose or dimention it. Om oiz srenna by eediots. Wassa mare view. Oil ave a decko on m'a ornry stro. Reckon os ya peck o' baastuds. Gotta go ya eejuts, salada! |
Just couldn't help myself, and yes I have read TC and Fuse forums... As a responsible engineer I research and look for facts that are credible and repeatable; not opinions, and here-say; but researched fact backed up and written by the manufacturer. I found this advert on a US distributor: "New UEF Graphene coating, two years in development, and UEF quantum treatments make the BLUE fuse significantly more holographic and dynamic than even the incredible SR BLACK fuse. Resolution and musicality are second to none." Not only blue fuses, but UEF Graphene (TC), so there is a link. And further I looked, guess who the reviews were written by.,... Oregonpapa for one, and being the first... 04-05-2016 1:58am@GeoffKait - this contradicts your current opinion Ozzy, if Graphene were being used as a signal conductor doesn’t it make sense that they would have used Graphene for the Backbone conductor, not copper/silver? If you Google Graphene you will see it’s primary use is in shielding RFI/EMI. And the reason is because of it’s extremely high conductivity. Graphene cannot be used as a Backbone Conductor (I.e., for the signal) because Graphene is by definition only one atom thick. That is a problem because it won’t support the current or the voltage involved. It will, however, support RFI/EMI. Also, since the Graphene powder is embedded in the ceramic it is not continuous and thus cannot be used to carry signal. In addition, ceramic is an insulator not a conductor. Thus, if they were trying to carry signal on the Secondary conductor they would be kind of shooting themselves in the foot. Who shot their own foot?@geoffkait When it comes to contact enhancers, The King of the Hill of course is Quicksilver Gold, no longer available, which trumped all previous concoctions, including Quicksilver, the previous champ. You can forget about all the other prior stuff. For cleaning I like Cramolin and Deoxit type cleaners. If the new concoction can beat Quicksilver Gold I’ll eat a bug. 🐛 Pour your hearts out. Put your back into it, lads. 🏋🏻♀️ I’m rather used to reading purple prose. 😈 Hipocrite... I could go on.. and on ... and on... about a lot of you. I am after the truth and facts. Seems you lot come up a bit short. Even tripping over your own feet. |
To me it stands to reason that if someone you do not know states something that is unheard of, the first question, well my first question would be is how. Then, can I read about it. Then, what are the figures. Can they be repeatable. Well I've read 2-3 years of threads, and contradictions. Oregonpapa seems to be the only poster who has remained steadfast. I cannot fork out AUD$325 for a fuse let alone 6 or 7. Nor can I fork out AUD$400 on TC and In would not do so unless I have proof they work. It would take 30 days for 6-7 fuses to get to Australia let alone a warranty period, which is blinking short for any product of it's supposed standing. Why aren't SR standing up behind their products There are too many holes in this promotion to believe. |
Truce guys, truce. Lets agree to disagree but lets not allow this fine forum AudioGon go to the dogs, where we are at each are either out insulting each other or disrespecting the products that, I am sure of, people have worked to make work. Ok, at times we have conformational or expectation bias. Agreed. Lets call it at that. I can't disprove what you perceive, I can't prove it wrong, nor are there evidential proof one way or another. This goes to all the other threads as well. I feel very uncomfortable knowing that I have contributed to the insults and personal and product putdowns. I feel uncomfortable posting something not knowing whether I'll get a thrashing for it. It's not a nice feeling to be excluded in a hobby I love as much as you all, Can we just call a truce and be civil with each other. I am sure there will be other posters who will respect us more for it. Adrian |
I can't afford the blue (or black) fuses. Therefore I am not interested in purchasing any. However, if I am honest, I cannot say that those who have them find them to their liking. Its the prerogative of the owner to opine on the product. If I or others are not persuaded to purchasing them for what ever reason, so be it. |
Heh.... I am out of the battlefield and will watch from the sidelines. It will make for good viewing anyway. Thanks for the best wishes. I'll be in good care, and I'll have this crappy notebook with the keyboard that has a mind of its own (I swear it's possessed sometimes) to keep in touch while in hospital. @geoffkait Geoff, take a Valium mate. Life is to short. So forget the competition and let it go. Listen to some good music and enjoy what you hear. |
@perfectpathtech I very much appreciate the kind words and offer. I also am not one to take gratuity, not because I am too proud, it's the way I was brought up. I will purchase a kit after I am over this episode and I know my future. Hopefully I will out live TC! But seriously, it is a generous offer but I can't accept. But please take my thanks genuinely. You to Tommylion. |
@perfectpathtech Thank you. I appreciate that. @georgehifi I wish I had an AMG but my initials are as close as I'll get. I had a Duc 900SD ducktail and conti's. Was temperamental in winter and the oil was thick the electric start couldn't do it. If you got the kickstart wrong it'd boot you over the handlebars, or bark your shin raw. That was before the new 750 motor came out. Should have taken warning when I bought in Sydney and rode home to Canberra in the dark, rain and Winter. Took days to thaw out. |
I must admit, my electronics background included industrial 24/7 traffic signal controllers which needed to react within 1/100s of a second. The triac drive circuits had fast blow for the above reasons. The rest of the controller boards used slow blow for similar reasons as explained by George. :) AMG ' |
Hello everyone, I'm back... This whole post especially the last 1/4 reminds me of the great scene by Abbot and Costello "Who's on first base...." The main protagonists are commenting on the just previous comments, and on it goes. The question still remains, do Blue fuses make the significant change that some audiophiles say they do irrespective of the equipment used (has anyone used them for equipment that is not HiFi?), OR, do they not make a discernible change to some systems? As there is no PROOF either way as per... a fact or piece of information that shows that something exists or is true: [ + that ] Do they have any proof that it was Hampson who stole the goods? I have a suspicion that he's having an affair, though I don't have any concrete (= definite) proof. If anyone needs proof of Andrew Davies' genius as a writer, this novel is it. "How old are you?" "21." "Do you have any proof on you?" Keep your receipt as proof of purchase. More examples [- that]
Is something right because people think the [thing] is right? Is something wrong because people think the [thing] is wrong? This post has indicated that people will accept the opinion of a large group of posters, and there are those that will not accept that way of opinion and want facts, evidence (as per experiment results) or unequivocable proof. Two opinions. Ok. So what? |
