The Music Room

Hi has anyone done business with The Music Room?  They seem legit, but their lack of a published address makes me a little nervous

Another +vote for TMR being cordial and professional.

Happy Listening!

I have had mixed experiences with TMR.

Just recently I tried to purchase a used item and trading in an item.

Wow! Were they way off base! Not only on my trade in value but in the price they wanted for there "used" item. They were not willing to negotiate at all.

Best to only buy from them when you see a good deal and sell your own item on the Gon or elsewhere.

I’ve done business with TMR.  More than a few times.  I’m the beginning they seemed really like a great alternative to ‘gon.  Then just over a year ago I purchased an expensive amplifier from them, over $20k.  It was advertised as one owner, but no serial number given.  I took them at their word, negotiated a fair price and bought the amplifier.  When it arrived and I was able to access the serial number and do some tracking, I found that I was indeed the fourth owner, not the second!  Big difference when negotiating a price for something like that!  It was quite easy for me to gather this info.  I complained and told them for something of this price they should put a little effort into giving people accurate info, and believe me it was easy info to find.  I honestly don’t know if I would have bought a $20k amplifier that was two years old and had three owners, and certainly not at that price I paid.  They apologized but didn’t seem to care really.  So I figured yeah, I just won’t do business with these guys again!

Then of course as fate would have it, just recently they had speakers for sale that I was interested in!  I contacted them and said that I was interested and could I get the serial number, so that I could get some more info on them!  They straight up said NO, the serial number is not available!  So ok, they want over $40k for these speakers and will NOT give a perspective buyer the serial number so as to find out basic info like actual age!  (The ad reads “unknown” for age!). So there you have it.  They intentionally don’t want you to know the age or. Umber of owners, and as we all know, that greatly matters to properly assess value!  Now, I don’t expect them to investigate every $100 cable, for example!  But we are talking about $20k and $40k  units here!  Deal with them at your own risk.

I can sort of understand them not spending too much effort when they list something,  but if you ask they should spend the effort and comply. Terrible cust service if they acted as you described.
