The HARD ROCK & HEAVY METAL Thread Continued

Not a very popular genre on this forum, it appears, but, HARD ROCK & HEAVY METAL FANS, feel free to share some worthwhile tracks.

Armored Saint, Brainstorm. Great , melodic, heavy, stuff and 2 bands that do not know what a ballad is!

AI definition:

”While "heavy rock" can sometimes be used interchangeably with "metal," generally, "metal" is considered a heavier and more aggressive subgenre of rock, often featuring more distorted guitar tones, faster tempos, darker lyrical themes, and sometimes extreme vocal styles like screaming or growling, compared to "heavy rock" which tends to have a slightly more blues-influenced sound and may incorporate more melodic vocal”

I investigated Heavy Metal by researching top hits, but the only songs that resonated were easier melody hard rock songs:

  • led zeppelin - stairway to heaven
  • Deep Purple - smoke on the water

I still find hard rock and metal grating, not a fan of yelling type singing.  Hard rock/heavy metal seems about distortion, energy, and maybe attitude, while much of high-end audio seems to value voices and acoustical instruments fidelity.
