I see there is a 8 ohm version and I was wondering has anyone tried the Tekton Double Impacts with Atmasphere M-60 mono amps?

I have sent 3 emails now to Tekton without a reply. Does this company answer emails?

jayctoy,
Thanks for the reply. The 3 emails that I sent have been over the last 2 weeks. So, it looks like I won’t be getting a reply. I hate it when companies cannot perform the simplest courtesy of replying to an email. Makes me wonder if the lack of response is indicative of how they handle customers problems. But, I will try to call next week.

Well I just called Tekton. It seems they have received my previous emails but have been too busy to respond. Karma was unable to answer my questions. Maybe someday Eric will be able to call me back. If I sound irritated, I am.

It is now about 3 weeks, 3 emails, 2 phone calls and I have not been able to make contact with Eric either via email or phone he is always too busy. The girl who answers the phone is polite but is unable to answer my questions. However, she would take my order...

Charles1dad, teajay,
Here are my questions that I sent to Tekton.
I own Atma-Shere M-60 mono block amps. They are 60 watt class A but are said to perform there best with an 8 ohm load that does not have deep impedance dips.
1. I see you have an 8 ohm version can you provide the impedance curve? 2. Why is the 8 ohm version $400 more than the 4 ohm? 3. Does the 8 ohm come with the upgraded internal wiring? 4. Can the crossover components be identified in advance instead of " what is available at the time"? 5. Can the crossover be provided external to the cabinet?
No reply from Eric... 3 weeks and counting.

To be fair after my 3rd email and 2nd phone call the young lady (I forget her name) did send an email that sort of answered questions 2, 3, and 5. The balance she stated had to be answered by Eric and that he would call me.

david_ten,
Are you using the M-60's with the Tekton speakers?
I'm sure Ralph would agree that without a demo using the M-60's or a stated impedance curve it would be impossible to really know how they would play together.
I think that is why Eric is ducking my questions. I bet his speakers impedance dips severely at certain frequencies.

mac48025,
Its nice that you could actually talk to Eric. He mentioned, but did not provide any real data to that affect.
Charles1dad,
As I review the few reviews from (Audio Video Review?) and on the Tekton web site there are no specifications stated. That and along with Eric's reluctance to answer my questions suggests his speakers don't test well.
Perhaps these speakers perform well with low power tube amps but I have others who have sent emails stating that they perform better with higher power amps. That would concur with a impedance problem.
Now I know $3000 is cheap in todays realm of High End audio but do you people just submit on line $3000+ without being able to get questions answered?

charles1dad,
Thanks for your input.

jayctoy, Ipretiring, agronatz,
One of my main concerns about buying and or then sending back for a refund is the size and weight of the speakers. I’m getting older now and carting 100lb+ each speakers up and down a flight of stairs would not be easy. BTW, some of my previous speakers were the Eggleston Andra 2 (215lbs each) and the Legacy Focus speakers.

Thanks Al,
Actually these days I am only using the DEQX for subwoofer duties. But your point about moving the speakers around is important. I am also no longer using the Zero's.

Thank you so much for the posts and understanding. I could get friends to help me move the heavy speakers but my friends are older than me! It would make a good You Tube video I guess though.
I am going to pass on these speakers for the following reasons.
1. I can’t believe that Eric or someone of knowledge from Tekton would not (at least) replied to me. That is truly sad.
2. Because of the lack of information as to the speakers specs.
3. With my own DIY speakers, I used the highest quality 8 ohm, highest sensitivity speakers with flat impedances that I was able to find. That and the crossovers I built used Mundorf SGO classic caps, resistors and inductors. All the internal speaker wiring that I used is the Cerious Technoligies Graphene Extreme.
But, I would have bought and kept the Tekton speakers IF they improved upon my setup. I mean the sound quality is all that matters to me.

grannyring,
Eric never replied to me. The girl that I spoke to on the phone finally emailed me about the external crossover possibility with a simple no. No response about the 8 ohm version.
jayctoy,
It looks like it will never happen, but thank you.
Lak,
An hour away? We will need to plan a visit regardless.

Thanks guys for the demo info with the M-60's I wish I could have attended. For now, I'm going to pass on the DI.

I just wish they had a more attractive look. Perhaps a pyramid shape.

mac48025,
Thank you. No I have not seen the aluminum chassis. If its on there web site I'll check it out.

mac48025,
I have been unable to locate any information about the aluminum version. Can you point me in the direction for that info?
