Sounds like it could have something to do with a previous software update on the tablet. If not that, find/download the apk for Tidal that you were using previously. Sometimes older versions of apps can work without any problems.
Tech issue: Amazon Fire streamer not functioning with iFi Hip DAC
Using an Amazon Fire Tablet as a Tidal Streamer. For months it worked fine. Now it suddenly asks if I want to connect to the iFi Hip DAC when I run Tidal. Exact message: “Allow TIDAL to access iFi (by AMR) HD USB Audio?”
If I choose “yes”, Tidal crashes when I play any music. If I choose “no”, the DAC won’t function, and all I have is a box that let’s the signal pass through it.
I’ve:
a) deleted the cache.
b) re-installed Tidal.
c) restarted Fire tablet
d) reset the Fire network settings.
e) reset the Fire to its factory settings.
f) checked to make sure the Fire’s software is up to date.
g) tried turning each component on in a different order.
h) done all of this several times.
No good.
I’ve also subbed out the Fire for my iPhone as well as my Samsung Chromebook. Both work fine as Tidal streamers, which would indicate this as an Amazon Fire issue.
Unsure what to do next. Any ideas?
